strong design, and versitile, but.... black plastic handle [that adjusts angle ] rattles very loud with each bass drum strike ! ??? surly there must be a solution short of taping it every set up ! I have beem using all DW pedals and hardeware forever, but this rattle is a serious problem ! I use this on a vintage Rogers kit I have put together, upgrading to DW hardeware !
Quality but will not work for DW Performance series (or others?)
I purchased two of these. This is a well built and designed product, but it is HEAVY. Unless your bass drum is thick and stiff as concrete it will flex like a toilet paper roll with this beast attached to it (I tried 20" A Zildjian). I could shoot myself for drilling one of my DW Performance series bass drums (22 x 18) for this mount. Even with light playing you can actually see the bass drum flex with your bare eyes, my front head came loose from the movement, and the cymbal swayed like crazy. It is a definite no go for my Performance series drums.
At least I only drilled one of them before I realized it wasn't going to work. I am using some automotive bodywork plugs to cover the holes so no real harm.
