    Awesome Subs

I purchased a pair of these last summer from Nick at Sweetwater and let me say they are great. With my Yamaha DXR 15's on top, everyone raves about the sound. We usually use a pair of JBL PRX 518 subs, and added these for outside gigs and what a difference. These killed the JBL's hands down. Do yourself a favor and check these out.

    DSR118W Subs

I would recommend these subs to anybody that wanted to have a killer sound. I've been playing music my whole life since I was 10 and I've never heard speakers sound this good. The lows are musically sweet to the ear. I Bought two and have them paired with 2 DSR112s and man I'm blown away with the sound thanks to Yamaha and a Special thanks to Sweetwater music y'all are awesome.

    DSR118W

I just purchased 2 of these bad boys and let me tell you they ROAR. These are the cleanest most powerful subs I've ever owned or ever heard and I've heard a lot of them. I've got them matched with a pair of DSR112s and together its simply amazing the sound they reproduce. So i would recommend these to any body i know just make sure you get them from SWEETWATER they absolutely without a doubt have the best customer service and believe me I've dealt with them all. So get you some of these you won't reget it.

    Nice Sub

Sub is as advertised, no issues with performance. I really like the line -X protectiion, it looks great and will not scratch like the DXR/DXS series. Spend the extra money, get the DSR.

    Good durability and nice performance!!

First time i was sceptic about Yamaha DSR. But when i heard Nexo engineers collaborated with Yamaha, so i tried DSR series

It's fantastic! I have four Yamaha DSR 118, two DSR215, and six DSR 115. Worth for your money. Great sound and durability.

good for music and live, not so much for EDM/house/hip hop and other heavier bass

These sound musically great, very clean and true reproduction and fantastic for live music especially with a skilled sound engineer, but are not the hardest hitting at this price point by a long way. Paired with the DXR12 tops, we can run the tops at between 0 - 8 (out of -10 to +10 Db), whilst we can't run the subs past 4 (out of 0 - 10) if we want the tops and subs to start hitting clip at the same time time together on the same line signal passed through. We actually stopped using the high cut on the tops to add some punch. I always place side by side to absolutely maximise their potential. If you're looking for DJ rigs for bass heavy stuff, the DXR tops are still amazing, but would look more toward Yorkvilles or something heavier duty. One of our just died at 14 months (woofer blew totally), but our environment is harsh (beach front), and DJs get left to overdrive stuff if party goes on too late. I have no real faith in the over drive protection. I would say a 4 star for live music, and 3 star for electronic music.
