The DSL Series - a revered tonal heritage

The Marshall DSL100H hails from a revered lineage. Marshall introduced the JCM2000 Dual Super Lead (DSL) series amps in 1997. Right from the get-go, these all-tube monsters enjoyed enthusiastic approval by guitarists and the press alike, forming the backlines of top acts in all musical genres and bludgeoning audiences worldwide for a decade before being replaced by Marshall's JVM series (a musical powerhouse in its own right). Considered the go-to rock amp by many tone-savvy guitarists, there is considerable pent-up demand for Dual Super Leads. Marshall hears you, and is proud to introduce the new-and-improved DSL Series.

A 100-watt tone beast

Marshall's DSL100H is an all-tube, twin-channel beast capable of conjuring any classic Marshall sound - past or present. Four ECC83s in the preamp section (in concert with the amp's gain/master volume arrangement) give you stunning tone-shaping mojo, and with four EL34s in the engine room, you've got the volume to rule any stage in the world. Sporting, in fact, precisely the same tube complement and feature set as the original DSL100, Marshall has gone on to fit this monster with critical upgrades that give you even more control over your sound. You now get a resonance control (as opposed to the original's fixed deep switch), letting you dial in your preferred amount of low-end girth. You also get studio-grade digital reverb (instead of spring), a rear-panel pentode/triode switch that drops the amp's power to a club-and-studio-friendly 50 watts, and a bypassable rear-panel series FX loop. Marshall's even included a 2-way footswitch for channel switching and reverb on/off.

Two channels and all the trimmings

The Marshall DSL100H sports two footswitchable channels: classic gain and ultra-gain. Each channel boasts two modes: clean/crunch and lead 1/lead 2, respectively. With the DSL100H, you can go from glassy Plexi-esque cleans, to JCM800-style snarl, hot-mod 2203, face-melting high gain - and everything in between. To shape all this delectable Marshall tone, you get flexible shared 5-way EQ (treble, middle, bass, resonance, and presence) juiced with the thoughtful inclusion of a tone shift button - ideal for scooped modern metal mojo. The DSL100H is ready to rock. Are you?

Great Amp & service

The best amp I own !! I have all kinds of amps & this is the one I play every day. You can't beat the service. Mine just quit so I sent it back for service, got it back in four days & it quit again. This time Sweetwater said they were sending out a new one & I got it the next day. Thanks to Bart Good & all the techs at Sweetwater.

Marshall DSL 100H 100 watt 2 channel tube head

I run two full stack Marshalls in stereo through my Boss GT-10, using 1960A @ 1960B cabs with Marshall JCM 2000 50 watt heads on each. I bought the Marshall DSL 100H head as a back up. I removed one of my JCM 2000 heads and hooked up the DSL 100H head in its place. I was blown away to say the least. I was able to dial in that JCM 2000 sound that I love (which is closest to the JCM800 sound I've found). For me the price was more than right with what this all tube head delivers! My style of playing is Heavy rock to 80's style metal. I highly recommend this head, it is the same size and configuration as the JCM2000 head.

great amp

well this amp is around my price range. this thing has nice cleans nice tight crunch for Hard rock and great 800 Metal tones. great amp for the price. it's no jcm 800 but it comes pretty close. everyone hates how it's not made in the u.k that don't matter
Music background: Hard Rock Glam metal/ Heavy metal Prog metal

This is a must have, go to amp!

This amp does it all! From clean as a whistle, to rocken' and rollen', to full out fire breathing monster. I saw that it was made in Vietnam and was a little put off, but don't be. I've been playing and using Marshall's, Fender's, Carvin V-3, (full stack), Line-6, Peavey 6505+, etc. for over 40 years and this amp is worth every penny. This is not an entry level amp. Although it is priced that way now. I wouldn't wait too long if your in the market for a new amp. I can't imagine they will stay at this price too long.

Best Head for the money

All around high end head with a smooth clean tone that will blow you away. Select the effects switch and you have a overdrive/distortion sound that will knock the walls down. No need to add a floor of pedals, with the selection this Marshall head has, you will find the right sound to fit every type of playing. The volume on this head will break ear drums. You cannot find a better head for the money.
