All-in-one Drum Pack!

Putting mics on a drum kit used to be "hit or miss." Mismatched mics can cause even the best drums to sound too thin or too boomy. And in today's music, the drums are more important than ever in establishing the groove, so why risk disaster when Audix - a world leader in instrument mics - offers up specially designed drum mic packages that deliver a rich, balanced sound. Investing in an Audix DP-5A mic set ensures your drums are heard loud, clear and punchy on stage or in the studio! They're a great resource for any musician or sound engineer who needs a simple, dependable solution to miking percussion.

The Audix DP-5A Drum Mic Package Package Includes:
  • One i5 snare mic
  • Two D-2 tom mics
  • One D-4 floor tom mic
  • One D-6 kick drum mic
  • Four D-Vice gooseneck clips
  • Heavy-duty aluminum road case

i5 snare mic
The i5 is a dynamic microphone that you can use on stage and in the studio. With its sleek styling and unique probe cap design, the i5 features a durable cast zinc alloy body and black E-coat finish. The i5's cardioid polar pattern allows it to focus on the snare while rejecting other instruments or ambient noise. With a smooth and uniform frequency response of 50Hz-16kHz and an ability to handle sound pressure levels in excess of 140dB, the i5 can be used for a wide variety of applications and for all genres of music.

D-2 tom mics
For bringing out the real, dynamic sound of your drum toms and congas, nothing beats the D-2! The D-2 accurately reproduces the warmth and punch you listen for from percussion, leaving out the muddy, indistinct "boom" that can mar recording. The D-2's natural warmth also makes it a great mic for saxophones and other woodwinds requiring a true, sensitive, yet big, reproduction.

D-4 floor tom mic
Make sure your low tom has that propulsive kick! The D-4 really puts that extra "oooomph" in your floor tom, kick drum, bass amp, or other low instruments thanks to its flat, linear response.

D-6 kick drum mic
The D6 cardioid drum mic delivers! A conveniently sized mic with the big sound that drummers want, the D6 is designed to sound good in any position and it is not dependent on finding the "sweet spot" of the drum. The capsule features the same legendary VLM technology that has made Audix D series percussion and instrument microphones very popular for today's live stages and recording studios. Utilizing the same low profile mounting clip as the D series mics, the D6 will work with Audix D-Vice and D-Flex clips.

Audix DP-5A Microphone Package Features:
  • Five dynamic mics
  • Up to 144dB SPL
  • Proprietary anti-feedback design
  • Durable scratch resistant spring steel grilles
  • Black hard-coat finish
  • Isolates each instrument's "sweet" spot
  • Gold plated contacts
  • VLM very low mass diaphragm
  • Reduced phase shift
  • Superior transient response
  • Application specific microphones
  • Individually tested and hand assembled
  • Highest levels of gain before feedback
  • Exceptional off-axis rejection
  • Built to last a lifetime
  • Made with pride in the U.S.A.

Complete Drum Mic Kit

We recently went from using Roland V-Drums in our services to an acoustic kit. Quite an undertaking!! Fortunately, I had some experience with Audix mics and was encouraged to hear great reviews from a friend on their Audix Drum Mic Kit. They had purchased the DP-7 and couldn't be happier. I didn't need the extra 2 condenser microphones, so I purchased the DP-5A kit and I now am also happy! This all-in-one package is doing the job for us. Easy set-up, with the included DVice clips for easy positioning, and a set of rugged drum mics that sound great right out of the box. Obviously, there's better drum mics if you want to pay more money, but for the great price I received at Sweetwater, I couldn't be more satisfied. Money well spent! Not to mentioned the great service and experienced staff that you get with every purchase from Sweetwater. I'm a satisfied Worship Pastor.

Best live drum mics I've ever used

I've used these mics for both live and in the studio and they sound fantastic! Without breaking the bank, these are extremely versatile.

Best Sounding Drum Mics by far. Seen a lot of people use SM-57s these simply blow them out of the water. They even sound great with out any eq on them. Save the extra case and get the DP5a (instead of the dp7) and buy some nice over head mics.

nice mics

These things sound great. They give a nice representation of the drums. The i5 gives a nice sound to the snare and gives you some nice options when accompanied with a Sm 57. Over all these mics are great and will add more options to your mic locker.

One of the Greats!

I got the Audix DP5a just a few days ago and I have to say this is one of the best drum mic packages I've heard so far. Go with the DP5a and not the DP7 the included overheads aren't worth the extra cash. Save up and buy some nice overheads.
