Chop Chop
Bought this to replace my bridge strat pickup. Needed the extra push. Paired with two Dimarzio Crouser (bridge) on neck and middle. 500k pots and orange drop capacitors do the job just right. Not traditional. Just right.
Great Humbucker
I bought the Chopper to replace the noisy single coil in the bridge position that came stock on my strat. I never was all that into the sound of the bridge pickup, even when using distortion. But the Chopper... Oh boy. The tone is amazing. Pinch harmonics really come through with a nasty, screaming tone. I almost can't stop doing that. I'm still not a big fan of the clean tone. It's not that the clean tone isn't good. I just prefer a thicker more evenly balanced tone when I'm playing clean. So I tend to go for the neck, or neck and middle pickup for that. The Chopper does everything I wanted it to do. It's really great having a noiseless pickup. Just having that has showed me how tight and pure the overdrive actually is on my amp. I would buy the pickup again for sure.
The Chopper
I got and try several guitars, and although I have a couple of Les Pauls, I always felt more confortable playing Strats... probably is the scale, or the balance... I don't know. But I do know that I wanted the power of a humbucker in my Fender Strat. I am not able to modify my guitar, and I don't like those Frankestein experiments either. So I went to The Chopper. Is the best mic I ever had. The volumen pot really works on this pickup, and I have now the power of a humbucker in a noiseless single that is easy to install and fits my Strat perfectly. There are other pickus that produce more power, but this is the right one for me.
unbelievable
Amazing strat style clean tones, handles gain just as good. Dropped one one the middle of a strat/tele hybrid guitart. It makes the guitar extremely versatile. I can play metal, blues, rock, whatever. In my humble opinion it shines most when doing hi gain metal solos.
Good
Good pickups
Matches up well with the Humbucker in my Carvin Bolt.
The stock single coils couldn't keep up with the bridge humbucker. This one in the middle position is a great match.
Excellent!
Received in record time as usual. Put it in a HSS Squier Strat I built along with other DiMarzio pickups. Sounds awesome! Highly recommend.
good strong pickup
very strong. first used it in the neck and it was not good for that. i have a tone zone in the bridge and when i put this in the middle it worked out perfectly!!! strong and punchy sound, great for classic rock and roll the volume way back for a great blues sound. i would buy this again.
The chopper
Ibanez gio stock bridge and chopper blend humbucker thrown with over tone and cranked volume and gain on an orange micro Terror and ppc 108 8 inch speaker.
I love getting revved up and tweaked tuning from standard eadgbe. But on this sound scheme I am happy guy. Love the clean and dirty sounds sole chopper and my neck and chopper blend is a little under powered. Maybe raising with more mid boost would complete the variety from neck to bridge I have guts harmonics. Death blur. Guts. Samurai death and shoot the moon. It's a satisfying introduction to pickups for myself. Only post objective is to learn how to raise the dead with death magic but I'm okay tone control is a half resurrection to what I'm looking for.
