Exceptional tone and versatility

The PAF Pro was created when chops-intensive playing was first starting to happen and high-gain amps and rack systems were getting popular. A pickup was needed that combined a lot of presence and "cut" with an open-sounding "PAF" vibe. The transparency of its sound lets the PAF Pro slice through heavy processing, (where darker-sounding pickups often get lost in the mud of the effects chain). Low notes have both snap and chunk, and there is a spike in the mid-range that gives the pickup a subtle "aw" vowel sound, like a wah-wah pedal stopped in the middle. Treble response is tweaked, so high notes stand out without getting brittle. The PAF Pro makes an outstanding neck pickup in almost any guitar, and it's an exceptional bridge pickup when high output isn't required.

Works well in any position

The PAF Pro is a dependable choice right across the board - neck and bridge positions, solidbody, semi-hollow and hollowbody guitars are equally effective uses.

Great with other pickups

This is a great building block pickup, because it's effective in many different situations. Try it in the neck position with a hotter bridge pickup for a great two-humbucker match. As a bridge pickup, it's really effective with single-coils, because it won't drown them out with too much power, and it's bright enough to blend in, tone-wise.

I own these

I bought the dp 151 and 153 humbuckers about 20 years ago to replace my pickups in my Jackson dinky before I knew what I was doing. I stopped playing that guitar a very long time ago and it's been sitting in the closet. I just put them in my esp 2 nights ago to replace the stock ESP designed pickups and the sound killer. I'm playing through a Peavey 6505mh head on a 4x12 Marshall 1960B cab. Only pedals in front of the amp are my TU3 tuner, ts9 tube screamer and isp decimator. So much clarity with the high gain I'm blown away!

Great pick up

I was looking at the Buck Dharma Signature guitar (not sold here) but I didn't like the guitar design. Besides, after more than 50 shows, I'd never seen him play one. So, I went with the pickups used in it to mod one of my guitars. I FLIPPIN' love this pickup! As well as the Tone Zone for the neck pup. If you want to upgrade a less expensive guitar I strongly suggest these for an upgrade. You will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't. Not for nothing, but the service I've received here has been WAY above and beyond any other place, out of EVERY SINGLE website on the internet that I've made a purchase from, no matter what I was buying. Be well people.
