Lightweight compact versatile
Thanks to a helpful SW sales engineer ( Brian ) I was able to A-B these with the comparable QSC K -Series 12 inch two-way. I chose these because of their lightweight, small size ( that fits in a Honda Civic) and good sound. The QSC sound better and their specs are more honest. When comparing the two contenders, we used digital piano and classical music from an I-pod. The anti-feedback and built-in mixer options made this the choice for me, but if pristine accurate reproduction is the main consideration, I'd pick the QSCs. In my case, these must do multiple duty for instruments, including bass, acoustic & electric guitars, digital piano and voice. The mixer set-up options make these a bit more finicky to operate, but generally more useful in most live situations. Another key consideration was size, since we often must perform with very limited stage space. The kick-back stand and mounting options make this more versatile for various rooms plus monitor applications.
The key thing that makes these great is the small-size and light-weight. They sound very good, just not as accurate as QSC. In most live situations, that small difference is negligible. So these are a very good choice for bands or small acts that must set up in a variety of small venues and have minimum space.
I still love my QSC speakers though, and can easily recommend them too. It all just depends on your music and the places you'll play. For compact portability and light-weight, these are hard to beat.
