Dunlop uses carefully-selected core wire and proprietary wrap ratios to let you get agressive with your pick attack, while retaining a tight low end, focused midrange, and smooth high end - whether you're playing clean or distorted. Dunlop makes Heavy Core strings at their Benicia, California factory, and sweats the details throughout the design, manufacturing, and packaging process. Best strings for Rock

stay in tune, stretch quickly, have great sound and bend easily. I've tried all famous brands and some not so famous. If you play rock these are the strings to get
Music background: retired professional

Super great tone

Some of the best strings I've ever use 1st set I put on snapped but that was my fault didn't tighten the truss rod like u should when switching from lite to heavy gauge but the 2nd set I put in were hella good they broke in quicker than the Ernie ball I use to use but no more Iam hooked on Dunlop heavy cores an mick my engineer is great shipped them out the same day
Music background: Blues rock mathcore

Drop C

Wonderful for drop tuning to C. Normally I have to tune a lot, but I got a New Jackson Slattx with a floyd and I've only tuned the guitar 5 times in the past month. You can beat the crap out of these strings with the floating bridge. Haven't broken a string yet!
Music background: Classical guitarist in college. 12 years of guitar playing.

Jazz Player's Thoughts

I play them tuned to standard and they feel great. Jazz musicians want natural tone. I don't use distortion so the strings must have quality tone. Jazz musicians also play legitimate chords so we want clarity and warmth and feel. Tone is really in the hands but the Heavy Core do their job nicely. It's time to get serious.
