Mic Your Drums with Confidence!

Built from precision-molded heavy-duty nylon, the Audix DFLEX delivers a new standard in drum microphone positioning. A powerful clip holds the DFLEX firmly to the rim of your drum shell, and an adjustable metal thumbscrew locks the holder firmly in place, allowing you to position it anywhere within its 180-degree range of rotation with absolute confidence. The DFLEX's holder itself uses Audix's "Snap-ti-fit" design, which firmly grasps onto any Audix D series microphone, including the ADX51, ADX112, ADX118, and both TR40 series and SCX series microphones. In fact, the Audix DFLEX will fit just about any microphone with a straight 19-23mm outer diameter.

Great Clip

I have found that the D-Flex clips are great for both die cast hoops and triple flanged hoops. I currently also have the other Audix D-Vice drum mic clips (more expensive) and they work great on the die cast hoops, but they don't work well on the triple flanged hoops on my other drum kit. The D-Vice mic clips actually distort the drum head sound and tuning on the kit with the triple flanged hoops (the triple flanged hoops I'm using are Gibraltor, so this review is only specific to that model of triple flanged hoop). This occurs when using the triple flanged hoops because the bottom clamp of the D-Vice mic clip (spring loaded clamp) pushes up on the collar of the drum head, and it ends up deadening and distorting the sound. With the D-Flex mic clips I don't have that problem.

Using for RODE NT5 on Grand Piano

Took off the Audix mic clip and used the Rode saddle, (as this clamp has a standard threaded post). Works great for mounting mics in a Grand Piano on the sound board ribs.

Good for the money

For what these cost they're a decent investment. They're not going to last more than a couple years but they're better than Audix's more expensive D-Vise. They're not really solid but they do the job. Get Shure's clips if you want the best out there.
