A Great-sounding Portable PA Speaker from Yamaha

Delivering an accurate, controlled performance, the Yamaha DBR10 10" active speaker can withstand a whopping 129dB SPL. Using the latest DSP, Yamaha applied their proprietary FIR-X tuning to optimize the sound and protection algorithms of the DBR10, providing you with plenty of muscle, despite this active speaker's rather diminutive size. Incredibly versatile, you can use the DBR10 as a great-sounding main speaker or as a high-performance floor monitor with a quick flick of the Yamaha DBR10 10" active speaker's D-Contour switch. A switchable highpass filter also makes it easy for you to add a subwoofer to your rig. Sweetwater has put together countless live systems over the past three decades, so give us a call. We'll be glad to help you out!

For keyboards, DBR10 hits the sweet spot of sound, size and afforfability

Tired of lugging my Roland KC400 to gigs, I started looking at powered PA speakers for my Nord Electro 6d. The KC400 sounds great and has enough power for small and medium venues, but it's bulky and weighs about 50lbs.

I listened to QSC CP series, EV ZLX, and Yamaha DBR12 and 10. I chose the DBR10 for its size and clear, detailed sound with good bass extension. For the first gig last night, I set it up about 3 feet above stage, switched DSP to FOH and added some EQ (more low and less high) on the Nord piano. Piano and B3 sounded fantastic through the DBR10 and it had more than enough power for a medium sized restaurant. Best of all, it was a breeze to transport at only 23lbs and half the size of my keyboard amp.

I highly recommend the DBR for gigging keyboardists. As with any amp, it takes a little work to find the best settings and placement. Because the DBR doesn't have EQ, it probably pairs best with keyboards that do.

Thanks to Skyler at Sweetwater for the helping me get the perfect solution for my needs.

Great speaker! Very reliable.

I purchased this speaker from Sweetwater almost 6 years ago and it's still going strong. I use this connected to my Line 6 Helix as my main speaker at home and monitor for worship leading.

Portable

Lightweight and very powerful little speakers backed by a 7 year warranty. Excellent loudspeaker for small to mid size areas. Add a couple good subs and get the party started. I use them for gaming also. Running a pc thru a mixer to them sounds great in the office :-)

Yamaha DBR10

I do live sound for bands and was looking for a small speaker I could use as monitors. I've been using Yamaha DXR12 's which are a great speaker but bigger and heavier than I wanted to carry. I bought 6 of the DBR10's and they are perfect for me. I set the volume level to +3dB and they match up to the DXR12's very close. So far I'm very happy with these little 20 pound speakers. They look great and take up less room on smaller stages.

Yamaha DBR10 Suits My Needs Perfectly

I bought a pair of the DBR10's. I use them for rehearsals and solo performances, usually employing one as a monitor and one as an FOH speaker. They can be driven by just about any mixer, but I run mine from the microphone outs on a Digitech Vocalist Live 4 (VL4) unit. I only use them for vocals, but they can also be used to amplify the guitar output from the VL4. I choose to run the guitar signal through a 15-watt 12" combo tube amp. The DBR10's perform very well in this configuration. I like the way they sound, and I find myself concentrating more on the quality of my vocals now that I can hear myself over the mix. They have plenty of volume for a small-to-medium sized room/venue. The input/output options and tone controls make them versatile and allow for a seamless addition of subwoofer(s), if desired. Lastly, I can't say enough good things about the customer service and support at Sweetwater. My sales "engineer" on the Sweetwater Choo-Choo, Mitch Dazey, is great to work with.
