Very Nice Guitar
I ordered this guitar because I wanted a 24 fret instrument. I was a bit hesitant at first to select the "Blue Crab Smokeburst" color but once it arrived I was quite pleased. I worked with Stuart Niven on the selection and purchase. I requested that he have it setup with 9's on it and he was more than accommodating in getting that done for me. Once it arrived I found it to be a very nice guitar. Setup was perfect, the guitar only needed minor tuning and it was ready to rock. I've had it now for over a month and have changed strings on it once. It only needed minor intonation adjustment. I put the same gauge strings on it but different than what it came with. I like Fender strings and I use them on both of my strats. I use Gibson's on my Les Paul's. After string change and adjusting the intonation a bit this guitar stays in tune quite well. I am impressed. The neck is a bit wider than my strats and even the LP's but I like it. I have big hands and I really like the width of this neck. If your thinking of purchasing one of these, go play one. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The locking tuners tend to keep this guitar very stable even with the tremolo. As far as the color, the "Blue Crab Smokeburst" is almost a deep purple. You can tell that some very find craftsmanship went into making this guitar. The only reason for the 4.5 rating is this guitar comes in a "gig" bag and for the price you would think PRS could include a solid case, but that said this is still a very nice guitar. Thank you Stuart for your help in getting me a very fine instrument and getting it setup the way I like it.
