Limited to Just 200 Guitars!
The Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 shares the distinction (with the Custom 22) of being among the first guitars crafted by Paul Reed Smith. PRS celebrates this illustrious guitar with Custom 24 Ltd. The success of the original Custom 24 gave it an esteemed place in the PRS lineup, and this version take's it to the next level, offering up a beautiful, playable instrument that sounds at least as good as it looks. It features a breathtaking curly maple top paired with a solid mahogany body, 24-fret mahogany neck with a regular carve, and an East Indian rosewood fretboard with old-school abalone bird inlays.
But the real-deal show-stopper on the Custom 24 Ltd. is the 59/09 pickups. The wire for the 59/09s is from the same machine that wired the legendary pickups of the late 50's and early 60's. This slightly modified wire — coupled with a few more or less turns — makes the 59/09s a little hotter on the treble and a little brighter on the bass pickup when compared to the 57/08 PRS pickups. Needless to say, the Custom 24 Ltd. sounds great! Paul Reed Smith is only making 200 of these worldwide, so call to get yours today!
The wood is the heart and soul of any guitar, and PRS continually raises the bar when it comes to wood selection. The Custom 24 Ltd. features a solid mahogany back and a carved curly maple top, a combination that results in both tremendous tone and a look that's guaranteed to turn heads. Every single piece of wood that goes into a PRS Guitar is painstakingly chosen and carefully handled. An experienced PRS craftsman checks each piece for flaws, strength and stability.
Using the most advanced finishing technology, PRS has developed fat, ultra-high gloss finishes and rich stains that exquisitely highlight the color and grain of the woods while retaining the fast, smooth feel of vintage lacquer. Because color is an important component in any guitar's appearance, PRS dyes are specially blended to look their very best under stage lights, shining with such luster and brilliance that the guitar truly looks every bit as good as it sounds.Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Ltd.
