Sweetwater Service Make's the Difference Again!
Well, placed an order for upgrade from Cubase Ai6 to Artist Full Version. A great deal and I felt that the process would be easy to register, because I've updated Cubase from Le4 to 5 to 6, so what could go wrong? Received my order again in 2 days like previous Sweetwater orders. Opened the package, saw a bunch of discs including the Cubase 6 Artist Full version as well as 2 tutorial discs and some Steinberg Demo Software. I loaded the software which took a while on my IMac OSX (which is a good thing because it mean's more VST instruments and presets. Then, I got to the ELicenser Dongle registration and I had a Dongle already with Cubase AI6 which is required for the special upgrade price. I hate this process and it can spoil the "feel good" atmosphere of purchasing a new musical product. It wouldn't take the License code, by saying "You have a correct code authorized, but. need to "Drag and Drop" a license that I tried and tried and tried to drag, but I couldn't latch on to the license number and after 3 painful hours, I finally picked up the phone and dialed Sweetwater Tech Dept. Chris picked up my call and again within minutes was in full control of my computer, magic! "You have soft licensed software tied to your IMac, do you have another E-License Dongle", I pulled one out of another computer that had some PC software and placed it into 1 of my 4 USB ports and magic, Chris took control transferee my License and things started to happen, it was registered, but then you need to get authorization to upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5. Chris walked me through this download, install 6.5 and waited till Cubase 6.5 booted up!
I should have never had to make this phone call. I am not so happy with Steinberg making me use one of my four USB ports to make this required ELicenser product to work. When are they going to stop making it so difficult to register something you just purchased.

This is the 2nd time I really needed assistance and SWEETWATER TECH DELIVERED.
BOTTOM LINE, I AM ALWAYS GOING TO USE THE ONLY MUSIC ON-LINE RETAILER TO OFFER SUPPORT AFTER PURCHASE. PLUS THEY ARE SO GOOD AT FIXING A BAD DAY INTO A GREAT DAY!
I believe the owner of Sweetwater began his business helping tech problems and development with Kurzweil. I applaud that he never drifted away from this approach!
Look every retailer sell's music products at very near the same price.I always thought I was so good at getting the "BEST PRICE". Sweetwater has made me change that!
