Make Better Music with Conspiracy

If you're like most Sweetwater musicians, you're continually striving to make better music - and we've got a device that makes the task more efficient, enjoyable, and well, less task-like. Samson's Conspiracy lets you sequence and launch clips, loops and samples on its 25 velocity-sensitive aftertouch-enabled trigger pads. The pads' 3-color backlighting gives you clear visual feedback - even on a darkened stage. Conspiracy also rocks 14 detented knobs, 10 backlit function buttons, and 6 precision faders. You can custom assign the controls via Conspiracy's master encoder, four directional buttons, and backlit LCD. And in case that's not enough control for you, you've got Conspiracy's X-Y touch pad for tweaking effects and transitioning between applicable software instruments.

The DJ connection

Samson designed Conspiracy to be an amazingly versatile controller that's perfect for home, studio, and stage. They equipped it with a DJ section consisting of a 2-channel MIDI mixer, a crossfader, and dedicated transport controls. The knobs and trigger pads are ideal for live remixing in software such as Virtual DJ, Traktor and Serato. Conspiracy is also adept at clip and scene launching in Ableton, FL Studio, and Sonar, or for dialing in your effects settings in Reason and VST plugins. Conspiracy can save and recall more than 15 presets, letting you seamlessly switch between your favorite software apps.

Great For Beginners

I did not buy this from Sweetwater. I got this as a birthday present from my family. It's my first ever midi controller. I absolutely was lost and had to read the manual more than once to get the idea. I use Ableton only and i've been doing so for a few years now. This controller has unbelievable capabilities and works well with Ableton.

Works great as input device but can't control button lights

First off, bought this from another location but thought I'd leave a review here as well. I'm rating this fairly low because one of my needs for this device was the back lit buttons and the ability to control those lights in my host software. Despite a video from sweetwater and a couple other's showing the feedback lights working I have not been able to replicate this with any outgoing midi commands. Samson provides no programming or reference guides on how to accomplish this so it's kind of a shot in the dark trying to figure it out. Also worth mentioning I'm on windows 10 x64 - the device needs no drivers and works great as a controller, it's the feedback that I am having trouble with. --- I'm not an audio guy, but work with visuals and lighting (in Touch Designer) so music software is not my forte but I did try to use this device with Ableton Live, Serato Scratch, and Traktor. Live and Touch Designer were the only software that recognized the device, Serato and Traktor did not see a device at all. Further more I could not get any of those 4 softwares to light up any of the buttons.

Stupid knobs....

I can't understand why manufacturers refuse to listen and keep building devices like this with detented knobs. If it has to have endless encoders, they must have light rings to be useful. If you can't have light rings, don't make them endless, and just install regular knobs. What a waste of an otherwise REALLY inspiring device.
