Built with an always on design, the Concord sports a bright blue LED to let you know it is working to offer you the best tone possible. Once you experience having such a high-quality buffer on your pedalboard, you'll wonder how you ever lived without the Concord.

Emerson Custom Concord Utility Buffer at a Glance:
  • Premium audio-grade components
  • Can be placed anywhere in the chain for optimal performance
  • Run it on 9 or 18 volts to optimize it for your rig
Premium audio-grade components

Emerson Custom uses only the highest-grade components in their Concord Utility Buffer. They chose to go this extra mile for you to provide ultimate clarity and signal response from your guitar rig. There are many pedals out there with built-in buffers that lack the quality and versatility of the Concord. So when you need top-of-the-line performance to make your guitar signal as clear and responsive as possible, make sure you give the Concord a shot.

Can be placed anywhere in the chain for optimal performance

As a free-standing buffer, the Emerson Custom Concord Utility Buffer can be used in the optimal location in your signal chain to allow all of your equipment to run at maximum efficiency. Oftentimes it's best to use a buffer as the first thing your guitar sees, so you get a powerful, clean signal right away. But some vintage-style effects such as fuzz pedals prefer a straight guitar tone. So placing the Concord after those will really bring them back to life.

Run it on 9 or 18 volts to optimize it for your rig

Running the Concord at 18 volts is the optimal way to get its peak performance. But Sweetwater guitarists know that sometimes our pedalboards run on a power supply that can only provide 9 volts. You'll still be good to go. At 18 volts you'll receive the most headroom and more touch responsiveness. But it can still perform at an amazing level when running in 9-volt operation. So no matter how you choose to power your Emerson Custom Concord Utility Buffer, you're covered.

Emerson Custom Concord Utility Buffer Features:
  • High-quality buffer
  • Premium components
  • Can be placed optimally in your setup
  • Runs on either 9 or 18 volts for your preferred method of power
  • Active blue LED

Need a buffer. HUMM?

First, I would like to thank Sweetwater and sales rep Ryan for the great service. Now to the buffer.I bought the black Concord buffer because of the color and liked the hookup on one side for cables. Also, I thought the ability to run 18 volts was a plus. It really took me a while to order this because I really wasn't sure it would do anything with my tone. I even expected I might return it.I use a Marshall DSL40C, thirteen various pedals and about 20 ft of cable from guitar thru the pedal board then two the amp. I did some testing and it seemed I was losing some clarity in my system. Though not substancial, I thought I would try a buffer. When I received the Concord buffer I could tell it was well built and had several components inside due to its weight. Well....Wow!! I actually got more results than expected. I think it may sound better than pluging straight into my amp....if thats even possible. All the treble is back, notes sound alive and as a plus, it seems to level out all of my pedals. I don't seem to fiddle with them as much to get the tone I want. So, if in doubt that buffers work.....they do!

Great Buffer

What can I say simple little thing but it get's job done ! Great price American made,my tone is perfect even going tru lots of pedals.

Wow - great little device

Aside from the excellent customer service at Sweetwater (Patrick rocks!) - the selection of products is outstanding. I love gear and I've got a pretty crazy big pedalboard. Something was lacking in the sound coming out of my amp, and after a ton of research, I decided to add a buffer to the chain. I plugged this little device in as soon as it arrived, and my opinion is "wow" - I am amazed at what I've been missing. The sound is just "cleaner" a bit brighter, and super articulate. Each note is crystal clear(er). While a buffer isn't quite as sexy or exciting as a crazy new dirt box or boutique delay pedal, do yourself a favor and just buy one. You will be amazed at what you've been missing!
