Enhance Your Tracks With Air and Clarity!

If you're like most recording engineers, then you're always looking for the perfect way to add that ever-elusive smooth-and-silky top end "air" to your tracks. Here's the magic piece of gear you've been dreaming of: the Kush Audio Clariphonic 500 Series equalizer. Essentially one channel of the company's acclaimed Clariphonic 2-channel EQ in a convenient 500 Series module, the Clariphonic 500 gives you a natural and uniquely clever approach to frequency shaping that's way beyond the harmonic exciters and magic-wand plug-ins that often create more problems than they fix. Put simply, it's extremely difficult to get a bad sound out of this box, even if you're an equalization novice.

Innovative design; magical results

Here's how the Clariphonic 500 equalizer works. Unlike typical equalizers, the Clariphonic gives you a purpose-built set of front-panel controls. Rather than dealing with frequency ranges and Q widths, you handle two main controls (Focus and Clarity) plus toggles for either control that let you further define the Clariphonic 500's character. Under the surface, there's a lot more going on. The Clariphonic actually splits each signal that enters it into parallel paths. Think of these sections as channels in an old-school analog mixing console. Both the Focus and the Clarity engines treat high and low frequencies independently and then sum them before their independent gain controls.

Make your tracks sound gorgeous

This boost-only architecture allows you to adjust both the balance within the signal path and the level of the signal path's output in the summed mix. Independent of either the Focus or the Clarity path, the full-frequency path runs straight to the mix bus and is unaffected by the rest of the Clariphonic 500's circuitry. This gives you the option of blending in the original sound with the affected signal - more or less like a wet/dry mix. The result is that you can add lush overtones and air to your sound, without taking anything away or adding muddiness. You don't need to spend a lifetime looking for the perfect way to EQ your sound - order your Kush Audio Clariphonic 500 parallel equalizer from Sweetwater today!

The Real Deal !!

I have the Clariphonic vst plugin and while it sounds very good, it can't touch the hardware. It's like comparing apples and green beans...NO COMPARISON !!! The clariphonic 500 not only " lifts the curtain" from in front of your mix, it also adds a 3D dimension to it making the mix sound deeper and wider. I've only used it on the 2 buss thus far, but this thing is the real deal. One caveat...use it sparingly as it's very easy to overdo it. When you think it sounds great, back it it off a notch or two.Highly recommended

Audio Clariphonic 500 - Very Good

I'm an EQ dunce and even I got great sounds out of this. It does what it says on the tin. However, it is easy to get too much of it. I typically record two channels, one clean and a second through this. I can then blend the two. What I think sounds great when tracking is often too much when mixing. So go easy or record >1 track.

boring EQ

I've tried almost every 500 series EQ that exists as well as Mic Pre/EQ's like the famous Helios 69 mic pre/eq, owned a neve 1073 eq, the list goes on. This EQ is by far the worst I have ever tried/owned. I'd like to sell it. Honestly it does almost nothing. You don't have the amount of hertz or kilohertz so that you can make a proper setting. Its I guess EQ's for dummies. But if you like it more power to you. For me, I can tell you this is just really not my thing. Incidentally my favorite EQ is a plugin a digirack plugin EQ-7 that comes with Pro Tools. Step EQ's are a winner, and the Kush Electra is wonderful. I just can't enjoy this particular model. To each his own as they say.
