Cinematic Guitars Truly Impressive my Favorite!

Cinematic Guitars.. Probably one of my favorite plug-ins!
I have Omnisphere and Heavyocity there kind of in the same family; both are great software’s and you can do a lot with them. Cinematic Guitars is just well thought out and the sound banks are truly impressive. A couple of tips in using it…If you really want to build your own sound library you will need to have a full version of Kontakt.. (not the free Kontakt Player)
It will work on Kontakt Player but you will not be able to get under the hood and change any of the setting and design your own multi patches. The install was pretty easy and they give you two authorizations if you want it on another computer.
Another big plus and is just great customer service..the folks at Sample Logic answers there phone and if you have any questions or you have a snag with the install they’ll help you out. This is a company that truly cares about what they do and the people that invest in there products. One of my best purchases!

    Excellent sound design inspired guitars

I'd highly recommend this library for composers specializing in film/tv/games work. The sounds are very unique, and are categorized into useful categories (ambience, rhythm, melody, etc) that allow for quick browsing and selection. The many built-in effects allow for tweaking the sounds and creating new timbres. The sounds also load very quickly into the Kontakt sampler, making for efficient workflow.

Definitely a helpful library for adding some unique sounds to your arsenal!

    Really wanted to love it.

The audio samples of this are simply amazing, so I thought it was just what I needed to help with my move into sound design for film, tv and gaming.
What it is, is a collection of mostly "1-shot" samples with some very interesting (and programmable) effects. There are very few "instruments" in this package that you can actually play musically, and those are samples that won't hold up to even far less expensive libraries of dedicated instruments. Most of the sounds in this library you simply hold down a root note and let the sampled loop do the "playing" for you.
For me, at least, this means that once you've used a sound, it's pretty much done and you won't want to use it again. Unless of course you're building repeating themes for television.
If all you're after is a melodic ambiance that you can let play itself in a given key, you may love this product. If you're looking for actual instruments that you can play yourself, you'll hate this.
This really should be a $99 library, given its extremely limited musical usefulness, but I guess we live and learn. Just an expensive lesson this time.
