The Aguilar Chorusaurus is different than your average chorus. Not only does it preserve the low end of my bass, but itís also incredibly versatile. Yes, it has some great chorusing effects, but the rate knob allows me to use it almost as a vibrato effect. One of my favorite settings is to slow it way down and increase the depth and intensity. It gives me a Jurassicly fat dub tone.

    Chorusaurus

Hands down the best chorus I've ever used on bass. I've tried them all. MXR, BOSS, Tech 21, etc., which all have products I love and use, but Aguilar beat'em out on this one. It tracks great and has a really lush, thick tone. Great price too

    Best bass chorus I've used

Got one of these along with 2 sl112s and a Tone Hammer 350. Best rig I've owned and by far the best bass chorus. Does not destroy the low end as many chrous devices do. Even some that use a filter to exclude the low end don't work as well as this one. Really fills out my sound in a way that's difficult to describe.Norb assisted me with this rig and I am a happy customer.

    Praise chorus

I primarily play guitar, but I play bass in a rockin' praise band. Our full band includes just one guitarist, keyboardist, and percussionist, but sometimes it's just guitar and my bass. So about a year ago I started to experiment with running my G & L 2000 through a chorus pedal to bring out the harmonics and fill in the mix, when needed. My old Boss CE-3 did a good job, but it's designed for guitar so the low frequencies didn't come through as much. I was also worried about blowing the CE-3's circuitry because my bass has a preamp and the pedal is vintage.

So I got the Chorusaurus at it works great and has the low frequencies! Like the Boss, if you set the rate control very fast at all you will get a noticeable pulsing vibrato that's probably better suited to a bass solo or a sci-fi soundtrack rather than a song. But keep the rate all the way down and out come the harmonics in a tone that is very usable and musical. There is no pulsing at the slowest speed and no worries about the rate versus the tempo of the song. And with the rate set on slow the other three controls all do cool things to your sound, and can be set practically anywhere with great results.

I also like the fact that there is NO volume knob (again like the CE-3) nor does it need one. Engage the chorus and volume and harmonics come up a little bit. There's no worries that the volume will jump dramatically when I step on the pedal because a volume knob was bumped. I already play fairly loud in the mix so I don't want any surprises. I almost gave this product a "4.5" because you need a stereo cable to access the stereo chorusing. It is a constraint. But I found my Stereo cable and I can see some advantages to designing it this way. Finally, it's cool that when running in stereo mode into two amps, you still feed both amps when switching off the chorus.
