This Could be Your Desert-island Overdrive

JHS designed the Charlie Brown Channel Drive pedal to re-create the sound of an original Marshall JTM45 amplifier, and even the pickiest guitarists at Sweetwater agree they nailed it. More than an overdrive and distortion pedal, the Charlie Brown Channel Drive is like an amp in a box. Just plug it into your favorite amplifier set clean just before breaking up, and you've got an incredible range of tone to play with. The wide gain range gives you everything from mild grit to full-on distortion, while presence and tone controls let you dial in the perfect amount of girth and bite with the JHS Charlie Brown Channel Drive pedal.

JHS Charlie Brown Channel Drive Pedal at a Glance:

Designed to rock with any guitar and amplifier combo

Even if you've had a hard time finding the right overdrive pedal for your guitar rig, you should be optimistic about the JHS Charlie Brown Channel Drive pedal. Between the Tone and Presence controls you can dial in the perfect response with just about any guitar and amp combo. Whether you play dual humbuckers through a solid-state amp, single-coils through a vintage tube amp, or any other combination, the Charlie Brown Channel Drive pedal lets you adjust the brightness, bite, and definition to taste.

Wide-ranging overdrive covers all your needs

Once you've dialed in the Tone and Presence controls on the Charlie Brown Channel Drive, you're ready to explore its wide range of overdrive and distortion. The first 50% of the drive knob gives you that subtle, gritty breakup that begs to be played. Past that, you've got an incredibly vibrant and biting overdrive. At extreme settings, the Charlie Brown Channel Drive turns into a high-gain distortion pedal, perfect for nailing classic rock riffs and solos.

JHS pedals are handcrafted tone machines

When you plug your guitar into a JHS pedal like the Charlie Brown Channel Drive, you're tapping into care and passion that few manufacturers put into their products. Each JHS pedal is handbuilt and tested by the JHS team in Kansas City, Missouri. Because they design their pedals for specific musical purposes, we're sure there's a JHS pedal that's perfect for any player's rig.

JHS Charlie Brown Channel Drive Pedal Features:
  • Overdrive and distortion pedal for guitar, based on Marshall JTM45 amplifiers
  • Easy to match with any guitar/amp combination, thanks to tone and presence controls
  • Lower gain settings give you the smooth, mild breakup of a good tube amplifier
  • Higher gain settings take you from biting overdrive to full-on distortion
  • Ideal for classic rock and blues, but flexible enough for many different styles
Epic tone is always a knob-turn away with the JHS Charlie Brown Channel Drive pedal!

Awesome amp in a box makes life easier.

I used to use two amps. One main amp and one little tube amp with an attenuator going into the main amp. This allowed me to get studio like control over my tone with wah, compression, eq and distortion, etc. effects before the little amp and and time based effects like delay, reverb, harmonizers, etc. after the little amp. After trying the Charlie Brown I decided this was close enough to a tube amp sound to use in place of the little tube amp I was using with much needed convience and portability. No more dragging around two amps.

Warmth, Warmth, and more Warmth

it sounds like my guitar is plugged into a freaking HALF STACK...the warmth is ABSURDDDD I'm talking about it changed the entire sound of my chain in the creamiest way i've ever heard. ugh its ridiculous. the presence knob is the superstar. i highly recommend this pedal if you want studio quality warmth at a layman's price. deduction for one star because: so warm, if i didn't have my boss eq pedal at the end of my chain to cut out some of the lows, it might be jussttt slightly too warm. seriously. this thing adds a cool 79 degrees to the sound. sometimes for some creamy creamy clean sounds, i turn down the drive, turn up the volume, and put the presence about halfway....omg....going thru some nice tc electronic hall of fame reverb??
