Sweet looking and sounding guitar
This is one sweet sounding and playing guitar. I carry it in my semi and travel all over the country playing in trucker churches. The sound projects enough that I've been told I need to sing louder. When I go to my mom's church and plug into my Roland KC-60 amp, it fills the church just fine with a sweet sound whether strummed or finger picked. The understated yet awesome look of the quilted maple gets plenty of praise, though it doesn't distract the congregation from the music like a more flamboyant look might. The only problem I have with it is the rounded back tends to slip around and tilt when played standing. While seated it's not such a problem, plus then it doesn't dig into your belly like a flat backed guitar does. The plastic back also holds up to the drastic temperature changes that occur in the cab of a semi when hauled all over the country from Maine to California, Minnesota to Texas in one day. Durability is a plus, and Ovation has plenty of that. Great guitar at a great price.
