Lightweight Cabs for Any Gig!

Bass provides the foundation that a song is built on, but the power needed to provide that foundation often comes with substantial weight. The Gallien-Krueger CX 115 bass cabinets are compact and leightweight, making them incredibly easy to lug to the gig. The CX 115 is a great partner for the MB series of heads, giving you plenty of power for the gig without breaking your back - or your bank! Gallien-Krueger loaded the CX 115 bass cabinet with proprietary ceramic drivers and high-frequency horns to create a wide-ranging and balanced sound that will fill the room. When you need to move some air, Sweetwater knows the Gallien-Krueger CX 115 bass cabinet is up to the task!

Definition, projection, and presence

GK has built the CX 115 bass cab for maximum efficiency, with a single 15" cast-frame ceramic woofer loaded in a compact feather-weight enclosure you'll stand a good chance of fitting into your car.

Compact and amazingly lightweight

The CX 115 is one of the smallest, lightest 1 x 15" cabs ever made. If you need to move air onstage, 15" speakers are a proven way to do it with powerful bottom end and articulation. By minimizing the size and reducing the weight of the classic 1 x 15" cab, Gallien-Krueger has done bassists a huge favor. With the CX 115, you can play stadiums without a crew of roadies.

Built GK Tough

Well built? Definitely. CX cabinets are typical GK - just smaller and lighter. And the CX 115's cast-frame speaker is happy pumping out tight bass all night long.

Gallien-Krueger CX 115 Bass Cabinet Features:
  • Great-sounding, lightweight bass cabinet
  • Awesome definition, projection, and presence
  • Compact and amazingly lightweight
  • 300 watts
  • 8-ohm impedance
  • Single 15" ceramic cast-frame speaker
No matter what the gig, the Gallien-Krueger CX 115 bass cab has you covered!

Twenty years later, but it was worth it.

I bought my Gallien-Krueger MB150E amplifier twenty years ago; I used it for a couple of years with many different speakers, until finally I made one myself (one 15 "and two 8", with a freq divider). This year I decided to buy the GK CX115 ... I CAN 'T BELIEVE IT !!! It is an ENTIRE different world. I play a four-string luthier bass with a combination of P-J microphones, I also play a fretless Jazz Bass and a Cort "Greg Curbow Signature" 5-string, fitted with a Bartolini microphone and active electronics. With ALL of them the speaker sounds PERFECT. It has been a new world for me. I waited twenty years but WORTH IT.

The Waitng Paid Off (36 Yrs)

Well it seems I had to wait 36 years for this Bass Cab of Such High Order , to be availale to the Public. Once again it was worth the wait. The Development of the Cab is what Separates the Men From the Boys. At first glance it looks Like just another"Plain Jane " 15inch Bass Speaker. But once I started playing the CX115 Bass Cab I couldn't stop.I Play a modified 1975 Precision Bass Through GK MB 500 Bass Amp.Simply a Marriage Made Heaven.Thats how my New Set up makes me Feel. My New Sound is Incredible!!! Thanks Galien - Krueger

Great Lows

I»ve been with Hartke for over 15 years and it»s been good. Both of my speaker cabs blew, so I replaced them with eminence brand (on 3 separate occasions...DON»T use eminence) because I couldn't find Hartke 15 inch speakers. I was actually looking to purchase a NEW Hartke cab when my last one began bogging out on me (and because I got tired of replacing them with eminence). But after read through the reviews, I got stuck with 2 brands to choose from (GK or Mesa). I»m glad I called my Sweetwater rep (Jonathan) who recommended the GK. What»s even better is that he plays bass, so it made me consider his recommendation even more. Besides the low end (without bogging), this GK is $400 cheaper than the Mesa. Unfortunately, the speaker stopped working just before praise and worship started this past Sunday, so I had to scramble to use alternate speakers. Anyways, I got that squared away with sweetwater's parts and repair, who's shipping me another bass cab. I even got a prepaid label to ship back the first speaker. In the meantime, I think it's time to retire my Hartke HA3500 bass head and look into a GK micro bass head. So far, I'm leaning towards the hybrid. Thanks Jonathan! And thanks Sweetwater!

Light and good sounding

Hi: I`m old and needed to lighten up the rig. Mike from Sweetwater recommended an Ampeg PF 800 and these cabs for the sound I wanted. It`s perfect. The rest of the band loves it too. It has a nice smooth listening sound and gets volume that will be adequate for almost anything. I got the 2-10 cab first and thought it was just ok but when I added the 1-15 and it came to life. I`m glad I didn`t spend more on something else. I`m set with this rig.

CX 115

I was looking for a cab that would fit in the trunk of my car so I don't have to drive a truck when I have a bass gig. After looking at a lot of options, I decided to order one of these and try it out. I was pleased and surprised with how good it sounds...not to mention that is is very light, and fits nicely in the trunk of the car! A large portion of my bass playing is with a trio consisting of bass, drums, and piano, and it is letter perfect for that. I ended up buying another one to use on larger gigs as I also play with a Chicago Blues style band, and the best part is that I can still use the car, putting the second cab in the back seat. I use a GK Back Line 600 amp, and the combo of that amp and 1 or 2 cabs works great for me. I might add that either one or two cabs sound great with a 5 string bass-I use a Fender Jazz 5 string. Very happy with them.
