Do not underestimate!
I did a lot of research before I pulled the trigger on this one. (In a previous life I was a computer technician.) Yeah, you can build one that specs out more for less money, you can buy one pre built for a little less money, but doesn't spec out.
But you get what you pay for. And here it is quality and support. I called my Sweetwater sales rep to ask a few questions before I placed my order, and he was very helpful. When my computer arrived, I opened it up and every thing is nice and tidy, no sloppy wires or loose screws. The Creation Station is a beast, I've tried slowing this thing down, can't do it. I run Sonar X1 and Sony Vegas Pro with no problems. I've even opened a load of plug-in's, especially reverb on several tracks just to see if I can slow it down and get some latency, no. I also use my Creation Station for video post-production and it excels at rendering video's as well.
Now every thing I am comparing the Creation Station 400 to is my Toshiba lap top, which is no slouch. Running Windows 7, i7 quad core running at 2.7gHZ with 8GB ram.
Well....(The bad, sort of)
The computer does not come with wi-fi?? okay, I went to Wal-Mart and got a usb device for $30 bucks. Unless you have a lan port near by you'll need one to register all your software. I also use it for a couple wireless apps to control my DAW.
No blue ray.
It could also use a better graphics card. I'm going to up grade asap.
It could also use a project drive. I got a 250GB 10k spindle speed HD for projects. $100 bucks.
I also suggest maxing out the RAM. I got a couple sticks from Sweetwater when I ordered. Good RAM, no problems.
I've had my Creation Station 450x for a couple of months now, and I can confidently recommend. It has made my creativity flow better, allowing me to record latency free, and I don't have to mess with settings,(Giving me more time to express myself.) This computer is another instrument to express my creative ideas. Get one for yourself and you'll see for yourself.
