A Contact Mic for Your Tuner

The Korg CM-200 contact mic attaches to the bell of your brass instrument, the bridge of your violin, and even to your guitar or ukulele. A piezo element directly captures the vibrations of the instrument and sends them to your tuner. The CM-200 perfect for loud practice or performance situations where your tuner's onboard mic has difficulty detecting the sound of your instrument. The CM-200's cable is robust and flexible, and sports a durable mic connection. The clip opens wide for versatile placement, while its rubber grips provide a secure attachment. With its trim design, great performance, and affordable pricetag, you'll appreciate the Korg CM-200.

NOT IDEAL FOR USE WITH A PIANO

I purchased the Korg CM-200BK microphone to use in conjunction with my Korg OT-120 tuner to assist in piano tuning. I was hoping the mic would allow me to pick up the tones in the extreme lower and higher octaves equally as well as the internal microphone on my iPad that I use for setting temperments and tuning. The internal microphone on the Korg OT-120 was more responsive across all octaves than Korg CM-200BK microphone and neither the Korg OT-120 or the Korg CM-200BK worked as well as the internal microphone on my iPad Air. I discontinued use of the Korg CM-200BK after about 10 minutes of trying different placements within the baby grand piano. I am confident that the microphone works better in a different application as the quality appears to be decent and I have had generally good luck with Korg in the past.
