This thing is great. It's very sturdy and well built. It's a small pain to put together, but once it's up it's not moving. It's really, really heavy, but works great.

Love this truss

This is a great truss system. Positives : Very strong and sturdy system. Assembly instruction not clear but easy to figure out. Lots of bolts for mounting. The only negative thing is that the mounting holes where meant for single lights and not good for quick setup and tear downs. What I did and I suggest to you is to use 1 1/2" clamps to make setup and tear downs quick and easy.

Great Product

OMG, such a great product built very solid. You don't need to attach the bridge so it can be used as two two separate light trees. Which can save you money if you have a small lighting rig. Also it has safety pins which means if you strip the screws from over tightening you can still use the light tree. Till you get a new set of screws. Now if I can find a bag that fits this thing that would be cool.

The first thing I thought when I got it in the box was, "Wow, this thing is REALLY heavy." It very sturdy and well made, I can see where it gets the weight. Everything from the knobs to the brackets feel solid. Even with a lot of tightening, I never felt like it was going to strip or fall out (like some other cheap brands). The only downside is that the instructions aren't very clear (but for Chauvet they never are) for the initial setup, and I think it really needs two people to put it up (you could do it with one, but it's difficult).

pictures don't say much.

This may be the first review for this product so I will make it simple, the pictures don't do it justice, This truss system is chunky, well built and can hold a b***load of lights for less than other truss systems. There is assembly required, but if your getting truss then you should know how to piece it together.. The only down side is the tear-down after set up, I have yet to find the easy way to break it down.. there is no quick connect to the truss where it attaches to the stands.. and to remove it you almost need a ladder, or bring it down on its side after removing all the lights. Bottom line, For the money your getting allot. I would and probably will buy another one..

Sweetwater Advice

I've used other lighting stands in the past, but the Chauvet DJ CH31 is by far the best quality for the money. If you're looking for a reasonably priced reliable truss system, look no further. This system is easy to assemble, fits in most lighting bags, and makes any stage look clean and professional.
