A Vintage Guild Hollowbody Reborn!

Grab hold of a piece of hollowbody guitar history, with this Guild CE-100D Capri electric guitar. Something the guitar collectors here at Sweetwater really love about the whole Newark St. Collection is that it gives us all a chance to own classic Guild guitars from the '50s and '60s. From its genuine Guild tailpiece to its old-time headstock inlay, this CE-100D revives the original mid-'60s Capri it's based on beautifully. Its 3.125" depth feels super comfortable in your lap, whereas the sharp Florentine cutaway offers excellent access to the upper frets. And when it comes to old-time tone, you'll really dig the sound of the Guild CE-100D Capri's Anti-hum dual-coil pickups.

Guild CE-100D Capri Hollowbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Based on a classic mid-'60s Guild hollowbody electric guitar
  • 3-piece neck provides long-lasting playability and excellent tone
  • Wide-ranging tone from a pair of vintage-style humbucking pickups
Based on a classic mid-'60s Guild hollowbody electric guitar

Based on the Capri from the mid '60s, this Guild CE-100D Capri semi-hollowbody packs all the mojo that made the original such a popular guitar during the rock revolution. Dual humbuckers and the thinline design make this guitar as ready for rock as it is for country or blues.

3-piece neck provides long-lasting playability and excellent tone

Multi-piece necks are stronger and more rigid than single-piece necks, resisting twisting and warping over the years. Treat it well, and you'll get a lifetime of exceptional playability from the Guild CE-100D Capri hollowbody guitar.

Wide-ranging tone from a pair of vintage-style humbucking pickups

Guild's Anti-hum humbucking pickups give you vintage tone, without the vintage hum. Best of all, each pickup has its own volume and tone controls, so you can fine-tune your tone to suit virtually any musical situation.

Guild CE-100D Capri Hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • A vintage-style guitar that re-creates a mid-'60s classic Guild hollowbody electric
  • 2 custom Anti-hum dual-coil pickups serve up smoky jazz tones
  • Guild vibrato tailpiece offers expressive performance
  • All laminated-maple body looks gorgeous, sounds great, and weathers wonderfully
  • 3-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck ensures long-term playability

Very nice Guitar

Guild makes great guitars and great looking guitars at that. I bought this model and received it a few weeks ago. Since then, I have played nothing else. How could I, when nothing else I have compares to this thing. I got a great discount on mine and am confident I would not have been able to get more value in a guitar for a comparable price or for 1k more.. It sounds great both plugged in and unplugged. It is a classy guitar, and for 3k less than the Gibson es175, and only a little more that the Epiphone ES175. The quality of the build is far greater than the latter and the sound is comparable to the former. If you were thinking about a Guild electric, Just Do It.

A Treasure

Just bought the Guild CE-100D. It is everything you could ask for in a hollow body guitar. I am not a great guitarist, but I like to play various types of music. This guitar is so versatile. The comfort ( not as large as some of the hollow bodies) is a big plus. You can stand with it, but sitting is extremely comfortable. The tone is amazing, and the sound is terrific. Tried so many guitars, and this one just was the perfect fit in comfort, sound, and price.

Guild CE-100D Capri

I was disappointed initially with the neck action, the volume controls did not work until turned up to 7, the vibrato had an annoying vibration when played accoustically. I am comparing it to The Wildcat, the Swingster and the Joe Pass all of which I owned, they cost less and to me they are superior.
