Great for choir directors

I direct a small church choir and this little "box" is great for rehearsls and presentation. Slowing tempo is a cinch. Easily patches into main sound system. AC adapter has long cords.

Similar to Long Discontinued MP-VT1,

I have the MP-VT1 version of this which has been a wonderful tool for learning vocal parts. The functions I used on this (all the time) were: * Vocal Elimination (standard Left Right Subtract with optional BandPass filtering) * Changing the key of the track to find the sweet spot or to temporarily compensate for not being warmed enough for the high notes * Slowing down to figure out a fast run or embellishment * Speeding up a track slightly above performance temp for practice... then when it's performance time I feel more confident (that feeling of "it may be a little fast but I know I could do it even faster if I had to ') There are effects I rarely used so I won't comment on those. This CD-VT2 vs my MP-VT1: * The MP-VT1 had a very small memory (by today's standards) for music. Sometimes that was good (no CDs needed) but at other times I was struggling with reducing bit rates or with what tracks to delete in order to have the most essential tracks loaded. With this CD version you're only limited by the number of CDs you're willing to carry. * The HUGE advantage of this device over mine is that the key, tempo, etc controls are _dedicated_buttons_. On my discontinued device you had to go through nested menus to control the tempo or key which sometimes interfered with the flow of my practice sessions. * This has two mic inputs vs the older device's one !!! If I didn't already own the MP-VT1 I would buy this without any hesitation !!!

Very awesome machine!!

Great for playing along on songs not recorded on the A-440 standard.

I play in a 60s band and a lot of that era's recording engineers kinda cheated on the pitch standard to get a brighter sound. Having variable pitch independent of tempo allows us to continue working in concert pitch without constantly retuning or putting up with difference tones. The VT2 is also great for slowing down playback to facilitate parsing of harmonies. Best investment even a technically established band can make.

Great little machine

I wasn't sure about this when I ordered it, turns out it is a blast to work with. For training and practice, it does exactly what it says it will do. It does remove vocals from Cd's, allowing you to practice along with, so far, every cd i have tried. takes a little playing with it to get used to the fetures. Well worth the money if your looking for something to practice alone at home and just work on your singing and also the feeling of playing with all the background instruments.
Music background: playing for over 40 years
