    Update

I just wanted to update my review of this guitar. I finally got to play it at church rehearsal last night and it did not disappoint. Everyone in the band commented on the rich and lush tone it was pumping through the PA and thought it was beautiful. They could not believe it only cost $349.00. Like I said before, fit and finish is not Taylor or Martin quality, but this is a workhorse and is more than adequate for doing the job. Tone and playability is great and I did not break the bank to get there...

    Great Guitar

This is a great guitar and I am pleasantly surprised with the value. First off, there are some very minor construction flaws. I have only noticed one on mine and that is a slight discoloration of the black binding in the cutaway. This is due to bending of the plastic. This is a very minor complaint. Overall, I am thrilled with the tone and playability of this guitar. You do not have to spend $1500 or more for good tone and playability. This guitar delivers the goods at an unbelievable price and it is just beautiful. I play in church with guys that play Taylor's and Martin's and this guitar will hold it's own against those guitars for a fraction of the price. Thanks to Jonathan Casarow for the great customer service. Sweetwater goes way beyond the level of service offered by the other guys. I will only buy from Sweetwater now.

    Sweet Warm Tone

I love this guitar's tone and sustain, much above my expectations. The Fishman pre amp is very clean and adjustable with 3 tone controls and tuner. Playability is not to stiff and in my opinion this guitar is a very good buy for the money.

    Great guitar for the money!

This is my first guitar purchased from Sweetwater. I've had it for 7 months and absolutely love it! It's got such a rich deep tone that other guitars just don't have. I threw some new strings on shortly after purchasing which made the sound even richer, however the Fender strings it comes with aren't all that bad. It was a pleasure to buy from Sweetwater. They have by far the best customer service I've ever experienced. The only negative about the electronics in my opinion is the on board tuner. It just seems off a touch so I use a snark to tune most of the time. Other than that this is on par with many more expensive guitars and totally recommend buying this Fender. The playability is fantastic, and people are always commenting on how easy it is to play. This guitar won't disappoint and it looks amazing as well!

    Good sound, but...

It has a really nice sound. I've had it for a few years and needed multiple repairs done on it. I have to constantly keep a humidifier on it because it dries out so easily and the wood got warped and needed to be fixed. Also, the bridge has popped off on multiple occasions and needed to be re-glued on. The time and money I've spent on repairs was not at all worth it.

I've been in some crappy bands and play guitar every day.

    Fender CD140SCEM

I purchased this guitar in late 2014. When it arrived the setup was poor and there was a lot of fret buzz around the 10th - 14th fret. Being an idiot, I assumed it just needed a setup and never got around to having it done until today (I have a lot of other guitars, I just played other ones). The technician at my local guitar shop said the neck is warped and the only way to "fix" it is to shim the saddle. The action will be high toward the body of the guitar and the intonation will be off.

I really wish I had taken this guitar in when I first received it. As of now it is literally unplayed and has been on a sling on my wall with the others for just over a year. I have no doubt that Sweetwater would have handled the original problem had I reported it in a timely manner but in this case I've waited far too long. That being said, I'm sure these are great guitars but I got a lemon. I am positive it wasn't the guitar climatizing to my area because it was like this out of the box.
