Like other reviewers I've played and owned other classical guitars. If I had sat down and played this guitar without knowing the price, I would have guessed it was several hundred dollars higher than the actual price. I've played a Córdoba C9 and the biggest differences are ornamental, in my opinion. The C7 SP/IN is very well made, save a little excess glue around the bridge. The bookend matching of the soundboard could have been better, but in this price range I have no complaint. To top it all off, there is a very nice gloss finish.

The guitar's voice is gorgeous, very resonant and balanced. The influence of the spruce soundboard is very obvious as compared to cedar- it has a nice crisp sound while still maintaining an overall mellow voice one would expect from a nylon string guitar.

I was also very surprised to find that this guitar has a two way truss rod in it. This is an excellent feature that most classical guitars, even higher end classicals don't often come with. And Córdoba includes a truss wrench in the gig bag. I don't feel this is just a beginner or starter classical- I've been playing for over thirty years (mostly steel string) and this is easily an intermediate guitar. The guitar's action at the 12th is a little high for me- I'll have to check the neck relief to see if I can go to lower action. Even if I can't, this is still a very playable guitar. A lot of classicals in the lower price ranges have problematic high action and there is no truss rod to bring the action down. You're stuck.

Usually I dislike gig bags but this one is not bad at all. It is water resistant and unlike other gig bags, I'm pretty certain the guitar can be humidified in the gig bag. This is a big plus as usually a hard case has to be separately purchased for humidification.

All in all, this was a great purchase and kudos to the folks at Sweetwater in sales and setup. If you're going to buy online, Sweetwater is hard to beat in terms of pricing, fast shipping, easy returns (if needed) and customer service.

    Loud And Beautiful!

An awesome intermediate guitar! The sound is so warm and loud you can actually feel it resonate as you play. I've played so many guitars in this range this one by far blows others away. And to top it off it is definitely a looker! Cordoba quality no matter where it's made. Of course I bought it from the best in the business. Sweetwater is World Class! Thank You to Sales Associate Randy Akins for always ensuring my satisfaction is 110% guaranteed!

Great guitar! I am a guitar major in college, and this guitar is a perfect fit for my needs. My original guitar was a used parlor style I found for a couple hundred bucks, but was too small to achieve good hand position and volume in recitals. Thus, I got the Cordoba C7. When I first opened the box, I was blown away by the volume of this guitar, which was far better than my first guitar. One of the main things I love about my first guitar was the amazing tone it had for a guitar of its price. The Cordoba has the same rich tone, just being a bit brighter. The spruce top does definitely give the guitar a brighter sound than a cedar top, which is something I really enjoy about this guitar. Classicals already have a warm sound in my opinion and the spruce top gives the tone more clarity than a cedar top would. At first I was a little nervous that the size might be a big adjustment for me, but the size is perfect and the guitar is extremely easy and fun to play. The truss rod is a nice addition to the overall value of the guitar and will definitely come in handy. Right out of the box, the action is a little high and I will probably wind up sanding it down a tad, but the guitar is certainly playable. The sound and playability are great and the looks of the guitar are amazing as well. I love the natural color and the dark wood combo. Overall, this guitar is great quality for the price, and definitely works for my college classes. Everything about this guitar is great, and I would definitely recommend purchasing it.
