Premium Tonewoods at a Great Price

Enjoy rich tone and handbuilt quality with the Cordoba C7-CE! The Cordoba C7-CE is a fine value in an acoustic-electric nylon-string acoustic guitar. The handmade C7-CE sports Indian rosewood back and sides with a Canadian red cedar top, for vibrant tones with a lively presence. And the solid mahogany neck provides excellent sustain and detail. The cutaway gives you clear access to the entire fretboard. For onstage use the C7-CE has a Fishman Presys Blend preamp with an under-saddle piezo and an internal microphone. And with the gloss polyurethane finish, Indian rosewood binding, and a stylish rosette, the Cordoba C7-CE looks as good as it plays.

Cordoba C7-CE Acoustic-electric Nylon-string Guitar at a Glance:
  • Traditional design
  • Quality tonewoods
  • Great look, great playability
Traditional Design:

The Cordoba C7-CE doesn't skimp on construction. The C7-CE features traditional handmade classical guitar design, including the solid Canadian red cedar top (choice top wood for classical guitars) and Spanish-style fan bracing. Fan bracing is preferred for classical guitars over lattice bracing, as it allows the guitar's top to vibrate more freely while still providing evenly balanced tone.

Quality Tonewoods:

While the Cordoba C7-CE is inexpensive, Cordoba did not sacrifice quality materials. The Indian rosewood back and sides set a powerful tonal foundation for the solid cedar top, giving you the right balance of warmth and brightness. The neck is solid mahogany, for maximum transfer of string energy to the cedar top. A rosewood fingerboard and bridge complete the elegant look.

Great Look, Great Playability:

The Cordoba C7-CE is a joy to simply look at, from the detailed rosette inlay and Indian rosewood binding to the gold tuners. And you'll love how the gloss finish shows off the Indian rosewood body and red cedar top. The Cordoba C7-CE's cutaway offers clear access to the upper fretboard for reaching those higher notes. A powerful Fishman Presys Blend preamp features an under-saddle piezo pickup and an internal microphone so you can deliver great sound when plugged in. The Cordoba C7-CE was designed with playability in mind, and its great look is just the icing on the classical cake.

Incredible Instrument

I have played piano for many years and have only recently picked up the guitar. My musical taste includes both rock-n-roll and classical/baroque. I started my search locally for a nylon string classical guitar by trying some 'student model' Yamahas. While these were nice instruments at their price point, I could feel the inevitable 'guitar price creep' happening. I tried a Cordoba C3 and the C5 in both thick and thin versions. Both sounded more 'flamenco' than 'classical' to me. I was about ready to discount the Cordoba brand..... and anything else under $1000, until I picked up a C7. I was in awe. However, I really liked the cutaway version. I also went to the Cordoba video postings on a popular Internet site. Cordoba posted a video of one of their staff playing a C5CE and another of a C7CE. Same person, same music material, different guitars. Fair comparison. Again, my ears told me the C7CE sounded much more to my liking. I also wanted some expert advice. Enter my Sweetwater sales engineer Jay (x1288). He has helped me pick out several other guitars and amplifiers in the past and has an excellent understanding of my requirements. He recommended the C7CE over similar priced brands. He pointed out that this model is hand-built (yes, in China, not my preference). However, he stated that to have this level of build quality and tone, it would be necessary to step up to something costing closer to $2-$3K. Although Sweetwater had other guitars at the C7CE price (and lots more), Jay suggested that I hold out for their next shipment of C7CE's. He could have sold me something else in stock for a quick sale, but didn't. That says something for Cordoba product quality and Sweetwater's integrity. Jay offered to select one and try it out after the 55 point inspection to ensure all was well. Imagine my surprise when I got an e-mail from Jay with pictures of the guitar a full week before their expected shipment delivery. That's customer service. I also bought (at Jay's recommendations) a Cordoba HumiCase hard case. While this guitar does come with a gig bag, I would only use it to move the guitar from room to room. An instrument worth buying demands a nice case. Jay pointed out during our discussion that buying the case at the same time extends the normal Cordoba 3 year warranty to a Lifetime one. (Confirmed at Cordoba web site when I registered it.) So, let your ears be your guide. Play-ability is excellent, sustain is incredibly L-O-N-G and the intonation is spot-on. Finish is absolutely superb. Buy one from Sweetwater and see what I mean.

Best Acoustic Cordoba C7-CE - Cedar

I sold guitars for several years. Sitting around and waiting for customers, I would play each one on occasion. For Acoustic, this was my favorite. A couple of years later, my parents bourght this for me knowing it was my favorite. What a surprise - I can hardly put it down. The wood gives it the best tone, for my taste. The electronics are helpful. properly placed, and unobtrusive when you play. The strings do just what you ask them to do. But #2 - this was impossible to find. Amazon had a 6 month wait list, and Musician's Friend said they would have one for me in 2 weeks, for 4 months they kept saying "next week". So, searching all over again my Dad found Sweetwater. They HAD ONE, GAVE the serial number to confirm it - sent it immediately - cost less than these other sites, and my Dad nearly cried when it arrived - he had been struggling for 6 months - and got it from Sweetwater right away - no BS involved!!! I no longer have plans to look at Amazon or Musician's friend - unless somehow Seetwater can not get something I need. Somehow - I just can't imagine that...

Great guitar, love the feel and the way it plays. Sorry to see it was made in China. I thought it was made in Canada.
