I spent some time playing the Nord C2 at Summer NAMM, and was amazed at the tone, feel, and playability that Nord has achieved with this organ. In a world full of keyboards, Nord truly makes instruments. Expect to be seeing the Nord C2 on concert stages around the world. It is a sure to be the weapon of choice for those seeking a world-class dual manual organ.
the HOLY GRAIL OF PORTABLE ORGANS
After spending thousands upon thousands of dollars in the past year, going thru FIVE clonewheel organs in search of that SOUND....it finally arrived with this Radiant Axe........i've just barely scratched the surface on this.....the B-3 sounds alone are worth the price ...it's got that crunch, that edge, that elusive Howl, THAT purr ! Do i miss the drawbars ? ...well... yes, a little. But if you know what you want, & you modify your approach to the Hammond, & read the manual, the merits of this beauty MORE than make up for it. I haven't even tried it with my Motion sound yet.....it's perfect ! It blows away the Rolands, the Korgs, the Oberheims,,,,i had it set up in less than 2 minutes : bass pedalboard, roland dp2 leslie toggle switch, roland ev5, a Speakeasy tube pre-amp (vintage) WHAMMY !!!!
I received the nord C2 as a Christmas gift from mom and I tell you it it totally awesome. What more could you ask for out of a perfect portable organ!! I love the pipe organ. It feels as if I was on a big organ in a Cathedral! The B3 organ on the nord is unbelievable! I feel like as if I were on a real B3. The nord C2 will provide everything you need in terms of quality! NORD rocks!!! What I love also about the C2 is that it already came with a lower manuel keyboard so no need to buy a separate Manuel. I love it!!!!!!! Sweetwater I love u guys so much!!! When ever I need to purchase a product I'm shopping here from now on.
Better Than the Real Thing
I've had my Nord C2 for a little less than a year having first owned its predecessor, the C1. Using my C2 at the gig with a real Leslie is, in my opinion, better than the real thing. I was playing a gig last night and two people came up to me and wanted to see my B-3. When I told them the C2 organ only weighs 33 lbs. they couldn't believe it. The action on the C2 is superb as are the controls. For me, the draw buttons have never been an issue and are take almost no getting used to. Also, there are presets galore which most pro organists play off of and have always used even on the real organs.
I've recently acquired a new tone wheel organ clone (single manual) by another extremely well-know company. While it's good, the Nord C2 is better and features two manuals. I just don't think you can beat it. Plus, Clavia significantly improved the C2 over the Nord C1. There's more articulation and volume if you want it for left-hand bass and the sound of the tone wheels is improved too. I recommend it hands down. Another tremendous professional keyboard instrument from Nord.
