    Love at first riff

Already left my review on the matching neck humbucker, but this one deserve some love as well, the BW's fulfill my wishes, hands down the best, very versatile and sublime at heavy distortion. Black (metal) winter forever.

    Geat Pickup

Rewired an old Charvel from Jackson actives to a BW in the bridge and Hot and Cool rails neck and middle. Sounds absolutely awesome and very versatile now. The output balance is not perfect but that's typical for a SA/SA/HU and it is just fine if set up properly. It is true that the BW's are not just for high saturation distortion, but when you do, its incredible how alive it sounds. I have been able to easily dial in rock, gritty bluesy to tonal cleans. Compared to my Ibanez with SD distortions, well.... I just don't play it much now

    Beyond impressed

I just installed the black winter trembucker and its matched neck pickup in my Charvel Desolation Ds-2, replacing the charvel active set up. These pups are amazing, they are literally capable of any tone you want. The bridge pup is awesome for rock and metal of any sort and its louder and produces better sounding harmonics than the charvel brand actives; but don't get fooled into thinking this is just for metal heads, even on high gain amp settings you can start to roll the volume knob back and it turns into a fairly mild sound. All in all I think I will replace the Gibson burstbuckers in my explorer with a set of these, and I would definitely recommend them

This pickup was the final touch to "hot rod" my BC rich (I've also added an original chome Floyd Rose Trem and chromed out all of the hardware.) I must say that pickup is amazing. The high output is great for playing any style of metal. I have guitars that are worth three times as much;, however, this continues to be my "go to" guitar.

I replaced my seymour duncan JB model in my Jackson SL2H with this pickup.

I was extremely impressed with the performance of this pickup. I play death metal and i what i noticed immediately was an unprecedented amount of punch and clarity. This pickup screams, every single note is heard and every palm mute is thick. The pickup is extremely responsive and cuts through very well. I play lead and focusing on evey single note, harmonic or dive bomb is a must and this pickup does it amazingly well. I've previously used EMG 81, SD JB or Dimarzio X2N's and this is by far a moire superior bridge pickup.

I use cleans very rarely, however they are crystal clear and not harsh unlike other high output pickups.

for extreme metal i would strongly recommend this to anybody, well worth the wait and the price.

    Absolutely Amazed!

This pickup is absolutely amazing! I've been a die hard EMG fan for about 5 years now and the black winter blows them out of the water. I'm not good at describing tones but ill do my best. The distortion is a very heavy tight kind of sound. And one of the main reasons this is 10x better than EMGs are the cleans. Even though it is a personal preference I am not a fan of the cleans with EMGS but I use distortion 90% of the time so it's not a huge trade off to me. But the black winters are a complete package, the cleans are better than my stratocaster that has the N3 pickups. I play mostly distorted songs by artist such as As I lay dying, chelsea grin, phinehas, and more but i also play clean songs like Blue October, creed, and some red hot chili peppers and these pickups play both types flawlessly. Overall these pickups will play almost all genres of music perfectly in my opinion. I highly recommend these especially if you use EMGs.
