You want hot? this is blazing! these pickups are great, you can actually tweak down the gain in your amp to compensate for what these babies can do. I could not be happier. Dont expect to play jazz with these this is designed for METAL and if that is what your after this is for you!

These pickups are AMAZING.

The Black Winter Pickups made my Jackson guitar sound like a beast. The richness, fullness, edginess, aggression, and bite from this set is unlike anything I've ever heard in passive pickups. The folks at Sweetwater were a pleasure to buy the pickups from too. I can't recommend the service and pickups enough. Both are top notch and one of the best purchases I made last year.

Serious Tone

The Black Winters are a serious soild tone, amazing sustain and a tone that cuts thru like a hot knife thru butter..... I put them in my les paul and it is like bolting on an unmuffled chain saw....

Verstaile and Forceful

I had these put on an Ibanez AS-53 (crazy, I know). I'm able to get some hollow gretsch-y tones from some amp settings, a nice crisp clean tone on others, nice fuzzy country, and a solid distortion on full gain (The kind I used to have to buy a heavy-metal pedal to get). The string to string sonic separation is beautiful, exactly what I was looking for, very clear, in standard or drop tuned (I usually go to D-standard).Great for metal, will pleasently surprise you in other genres.
