Best Rounds So Far

I've played every string imaginable over the years. Played DR's for many years. Those were always too tight and a little rough on the fingers. These are more flexible and the coating makes them silky and smooth. I currently am using the .95 gauge. I started when I was young on .105s and then moved to .100s these are the best for me at this time. I stopped playing for a few years and was getting wrist pain with higher gauges. Now, I just let my amp do the work. Will stick with these for sure.

Its all about tone

I've played bass for over 35 years & always used Rotosound strings for the twang, but since I love the sound of Elixir strings on my acoustic guitar, I thought I would try their bass strings. Now I'm using them on all my basses. I've found they last much longer & retain that "new string sound" for months. But for me, it's all about tone. These strings simply sound amazing. They keep that twang / brightness but also have a nice round piano string sound. I'm a finger player & my hands sweat, so my strings tend to get dull after a few gigs, but I'm always amazed when I pull out my bass once again & think, surely these strings will sound dull, but they don't. They keep on delivering great sound. Elixir bass strings stay live & sound great.

first trial/ foray into light gauge, will use again,

played on first guitar...original 74 precision, expensive choice for lighter gauge string for me. the string just plays easier and am impressed at the range of sounds. in looking for harmonics...found some of them here. new favorite string gauge and i hear brightness and ringing overtone nuances i appreciate. easy choice for endurance playing and with the lower neck tensions, the fingering hand can relax into the slow caring hand. for me a more accomodating technical choice that will recur in the case.
