Great Speakers For Budget Home Studio

The speakers surpassed my expectations. They are great speaker for a budget home studio and they have a very flat response. Very natural tone and the low end is more than enough in less you're doing heavy, heavy bass or rap style music. I record hard rock and these are perfect for the price. They are bigger than I expected, buy that's ok.

    Exceptionally-Accurate Sound

These are incredibly beautiful-sounding and accurate monitors. I just use them for listening to music and watching movies at home and I was apprehensive about spending the money but I love them. They have plenty of power and are tight, not loose sounding when you turn them up. I added the M-Audio BX 10" subwoofer, even though they have great low-frequency response by themselves. You just can't place them near to a wall because of the rear ports.

If you love to hear the full range of frequencies accurately and cleanly reproduced at moderate, or even high volumes, you'll love these speakers.

The best starter monitor hands down.

After extensive research, I dub these monitors the right choice for a begginer trying to budget. The low end range of 38hz is essential, making anything smaller not really conventional. While the Yamaha hs8's have a higher frequency range (+8khz), paying the extra $100 is somewhat unnecessary for the same low end & extra inaudible frequencies.

    My goodness

What an improvement over the BX8 D2. They punch above their weight. They are sold individually, NOT IN PAIRS, unlike prior M-Audio sets from years back.

I'm very pleased with the frequency response, but honestly not pleased with my recordings now that I found the flaws in the low-end I was looking for. Low-end is tight and very "controlled". Extension is good, not sibilant. I do not use a sub, and am not tempted to quite yet. The sweet spot is average, although i use them vertically, YMMV. I have not used the acoustic space controls (contour switches for reducing low freq buildup near a wall) on a final project as my studio is tuned well. I tried them out "just because", and they work as advertised however they will remain in the neutral slot.

Build quality is good. I'm still adjusting, but the one word summary is "neutral" sound ..nothing missing, nothing added. The SW pic makes them look small, the shipping box makes them look big. They are in the middle lol. There's a little pinhole with a purpleish-blueish light that helps you place them (and stay on when powered up) but i found my ears are the best calibrator to date. I still keep a handful of others on-hand for reference check. I see myself using these for the bulk of my work.

Overall, very very good. I would replace if stolen. More expensive than others but worth the upgrade. Mixing: mostly hard rock, alternative, jazz, some hip-hop.

    The best monitors period.

Didn't know my KRK 10S subwoofer would practically become useless after buying these. The cleanness and seemingly-flat-response these monitors give them make them so worth buying. They're right on par with price compared to all the cheapest models too, but I'll be willing to bet money they do better in performance tests than them, and even compete with ones higher up. Buy these dude, you won't regre it.
