You can be confident that these systems will work safely and within the permitted frequency/power ranges, just as they are. However, please be aware that by choosing to use systems that operate in the 700MHz range or by modifying a new wireless system you receive from us, you may cause your system to operate outside the FCC's new guidelines. If that's the case, you may need a license to operate the unit. Great system!

We were using a microphone on the 2.4 ghz band. Bad idea in a place with an audience served by WiFi - unpredictable link faiures. So we went with this mic at Sweetwater's recommendation. Good move. One thing we learned the hard way is that before you use it, do a channel scan. The default setup was on a channel with some strong signal that didn't create a problem in testing, but caused dead spots in actual use. On moved to a scanned-ok channel, it worked great.
Music background: I play piano so people don't have to listen to me sing.

Problem solved

We were replacing a headset mike that had died. We tried various "economy" solutions, except they weren't. Decided to rethink how economical. Called Sweetwater. told them of our frequency and range issues. They suggested the BLX series. unpacked it it. Factory settings and frequency was clear in our area. (San Francisco Bay Area). So I never tried fiddling with frequency. Installed it and it is rock solid, no TV interference, no drop outs, no picket fencing. Our speaker can walk all around, and yesterday, pretty close to the speakers. Stable as heck. no feedback. Sound quality is superb. This is still NOT an expensive unit, but comes with all sorts of mounting hardware. Probably will by another down the road. will do so without trepidation
