    Surprisingly Good

I've been building a home studio and a PA system to start playing again. I was looking for something inexpensive but not a waste of money. Looked at the On Staqe stands at the local store and I was not impressed. The clamps felt spongy. I picked this up from Sweetwater against recommendations from the sales staff. I'm glad I did. The boom locks tight and easily holds my SM-58 without slipping. It's been setting over a Keyboard extended over 2 ft without drooping. For a light weight stand I don't think you can find a better one at twice the price. I will be getting more when I start playing out again for friends to set in with me.

    Does the job well.

This is a nice, solid mic stand. They are a bit better than the super cheap mic stands that you see for 20 bucks. They are heavier, but they are still not super heavy duty. For normal use, this mic stand woks just fine. It does come with nice big knobs to make tightening easy.

    Wow!

It's a mic stand. It stands and hold a mic. It appears well made and sturdy but I'm not throwing it around the room, it just kind of stands there and, well, holds a mic.

Time will tell, but it feels much sturdier than what I expected

My primary Ultimate squeeze-grip stand broke a couple years ago, so I bought a new stand, paying a bit for one I believed would last. It has, but, over time, it has increasingly felt like I'm carrying another speaker, it's so heavy.
I saw this in a Sweetwater email, and thought it worth a try. I was concerned that the price might presage a poorly-built stand.
It arrived Saturday afternoon. I pulled it from the box and took it to my show that evening.
Time will tell, but it feels much sturdier than what I expected.
I also prefer a two-section boom, making it shorter when folded up. The base is slightly short, which makes helps with the folded size.
I withhold 5-stars till I see if it's truly as sturdy as it at-first appears.

Very Reliable But Not Quite Perfect

I don't have super high expectations for a mic-stand. Basically, it just needs to hold the mic without me feeling incredibly nervous that it might fall, and it needs to be adjustable so I can place the mic in the needed position for the job.
This stand has been taken to film shoot locations and has gotten treated pretty roughly for the past month. Parts of the stand are now difficult to adjust (the lowest adjustable section) and don't tighten as much as I'd like. But although the convenience of the stand is significantly lessened, the stand still holds strong. I've never been nervous about placing my studio mic on it. I may replace the stand soon with a new one that I'll take better care of, but I plan to keep this one around for as long as it lasts, which I think will be quite a while.
