An absolute gem

If you had told me prior to buying this guitar that I would ever be enamored with an asian made guitar I would tell you that you were nuts!I wanted to get a guitar that would fill my needs and look good at the same time without costing me an arm and a leg and would let me leave my elderly Pauls and Strats at home.after doing careful research I purchased the BJ-C1 (blueburst passive) from Sweetwater.First thing out of the box emerged a completely flawless guitar. The Finish and fit were superb. These guitars are simply beautiful. I'm picky but I absolutely couldn't find ANY flaws. This model is well thought out .The TOM bridge, pups, locking tuners, and ebony fretboard all work to produce and incredible sounding instrument that is a joy to play. The neck is thin, set, and satin finished which lets you hand glide smoothly over it with easy access to the high frets. The ebony fretboard produces a bright yet warm sound. The jumbo frets let you bend to your hearts content. The TOM bridge and string through design gives serious sustain. The pickuos for the passive model are Seymour Duncans. The bridge is called "the shred" and the neck is called "jazz". The shred pickup is hot, crunchy, and crispy. It delivers serious crunch and singing leads Don't' despair at the name jazz" for the neck. If you play blues or country you will love this pickup. It produces buttery lush tones and amazing low notes. Chords have clarity and "air" between each note. If you are looking for punch and play metal this pickup will deliver tones that you can readily use. Slap on your fav distortion and you will love the dark tones you can achieve.Take a look at Schecter I've little doubt that you will find a body style and configuration that you will love. I certainly found mine!

Great insturment

This is a really nice guitar, especially when you condsider the price. Construction is really solid, it's built like a tank. Has an incredible tone, with sustain for days. The tuners are shcecter brand locking tuners (not sure who manufactures them) but they are really well made, think the ratio is 19:1. I did upgrade my volume and tone pots, the stock ones are nice enough but I wanted more linear control. I like it so much I'm getting another one with EMG's and Floyd Rose.

Schecter brings quality and value

I own two of these guitars and they are both great instruments. I did change the pickups on both and am very please with the results. They offer good pickups but I am picky and want that little extra sound wise. I also had each guitar fret-leveled by a trusted local tech. These two small modifications really make the SLS series Schecters stand out as quality guitars on any level. The build quality and tone woods are excellent especially for the price, and the neck profiles on the SLS series (Ultra thin C) are very comfortable and enjoyable to play. Recommended!!
