    Wow, this bas ROCKS!

I've had my faded SG for a few weeks now and I can't believe how cool this axe is! I thought my old, nearly 12lb, mid-seventies P bass was a great guitar but I'm afraid this SG is so much more. I am in the process of doing some up-grades to the hardware but it sounded great right out of the box... I mean case. So much more range of tone, so much easier to play with the short scale and so much lighter on my old back. For the price, I just don't think you can do any better on a US made bass guitar.

    Love this bass.

This came well setup from SW. Loved that. The bass is excellent. Light, fast, with a nice grind and punch to it. Brings back memories.

    All bass, all the time.

    Great little bass

Came across the oddly named SG Re-Issue in a local music store and was blown away! Great playing and great sounding bass from Gibson??? I typically don't care much for Gibson basses bu the SG is a winner. Sits in a mix very similar to a P bass but with a little more thump and bite. Most of my other basses are Jazz bass clones. The SG is my main player in my current band though. Just sounds right, looks cool too.

The worn Cherry looks much better in person. The Pics in the guitar gallery make it look a lot brighter and it is a very difficult color to catch accurately.

The build quality of the bass is excellent. Fit and finish are spot on. Frets are all perfectly leveled and you can get a pretty good setup right out of the box. Bass is a little neck heavy but not annoyingly so.

I did replace the Tuners with GB528 ResOLite Tuners. And a Hipshot Supertone bridge. The original tuners and bridge work fine but the upgrades are worth it to me. Bridge is way easier to adjust and allows for individual string height adjustment and I do ultralight tuners on all my basses. The 528's fit in the the bottom two existing holes and are some of my favorite tuners. Bass balances perfectly now.

Out of the box though this bass is a winner. Fun to play and sounds great. Now I need to find the perfect strings.....
