Apple AppleCare Protection Plan for iMac

Well ithisis something that you should do...It will give you definitely peace of mind. However(and I'm not blaming Sweetwater at all) it wasn't what I expected.I thought I was going to get 3 more years with this Extended Warranty purchase for Apple iMac., but according to Apple 3 years would be from the day of I purchased my iMac. So, it will be only 2 more years. Anyway I'm happy

Apple Slice

Not A real fan of maintenance agreements, but also not a real fan of computer breakdowns or the cost of fixes- so, I bought the AppleCare plan as extra insurance for the Mac I purchased. But, I thought the protection plan would cover my entire Apple purchase- which included the touchpad. Nope! To cover that, I would have to buy another plan. I found that out when I tried to register the touchpad with the Mac on the agreement. I could register either the Mac or the touchpad, but not both. Good thing I registered the Mac first. But, here's the kicker: I wrote a note to Apple customer service asking if the coverage included my total Apple purchase. I got no response.

Very Disappointed

I recently purchased a new iMac, and bought the Apple Care along with it. The reason that I bought the extended care is because in the product description it says that it provides "on site" repairs. I live hours away from the nearest Apple repair facility. I thought if I eve had a problem, they would come and fix the computer. Sadly I was mistaken, mislead, should I say cheated. I quickly developed power problems with the new iMac . The phone reps from Apple were most helpful and after a number of conversations felt like they had the problem figured out. That is when they told me to take it into an Apple Store for repair. I explained my situation (being far removed) and requested the onsite service that was promised in the agreement. I was told that the technicians would not travel that far, and that I was on my own to get it to the repair facility. I spoke with my Sweetwater Rep about this, and they offered to pay for shipping back to them for repair at the Apple facility close at hand. That was helpful. Obviously I still had to box it up and get it to the FedEx center. I am old and have mobility issues, so that was enough of a problem. So now, the computer is headed for Sweetwater, and I will be without it for weeks. I am extremely disappointed. Don't believe what Apple tells you, they will not follow through on it, or at least they did not for me.
