This software is everythings as advertised
This software is the first 5 star product I have reviewed here at Sweetwater; it honestly does have the WOW factor. The award winning algorithms used by IK Multimedia are indeed impressive and deliver an extremely accurate representation of the hardware emulated. The user interface appeared a bit daunting at first but once I read the manual and began playing around with it everything fell nicely into place; the one exception being the elusive differences between saving a patch versus saving a preset but even that made sense eventually. The software delivers a full spectrum of tweak-ability from simply plugging in and playing to sculpting your sound to the Nth degree. The array of stomp boxes, amplifiers, microphones, speaker cabinets and rack effects provides an excellent selection of hardware emulations spanning the history of modern electric music inclusive of the most iconic equipment in the industry plus a few excellent hybrid and modified modules created by IK Multimedia to up the game. No matter what level you are at in the modern computerized music industry this software will find a comfortable place to sit in your arsenal of "go to" products. If you are a performer you will appreciate the ability to take your tablet or laptop to the gig, plug in to the house sound system and shred to your heart's content; no more hauling around all that heavy equipment. The big bonus is the included mini-DAW module that lets you work on compositions any where at any time or to set up and play pre-arranged back-up material for a solo gig. The software's biggest asset may be that it is very handy and portable and IK Multimedia's end user license provides nicely for that allowing you to reside the software on your workstation, laptop and tablet simultaneously. There is a plethora of handy "thought of everything" type extras that really round out the whole package such as the global noise gate and the playback speed control. I use this way more than I thought I would and am learning new ways to incorporate it into my workflow every week.
