PRS Alex Lifeson SE

Thank you Aaron for all your help and advice when I began the process of purchasing my PRS Alex Lifeson SE guitar. I sent a message to Aaron asking, "Is it here yet, Is it here yet, Is it here yet?" His reply, "The Waaaiting is the hardest part." It wasn't that hard, 2 days. Fast shipping. And the setup was spot on! Thank you all at Sweetwater! Now the PRS AL. What an awesome guitar. Aaron told me before I purchased it that the tone was incredible coming from a "thinbody" guitar. He nailed it. Rich lows, brilliant highs and everything in between. The fit and finish is better than many guitars twice its price. It also comes with a great hardcase. It's been a while since I've spent much time playing accoustic guitar but this Alex Lifeson is making it fun. Thanks Aaron and Sweetwater!

Crazy Thing I Done

Yeah, I did it. As a 35 year Rush fan and a wanna be Lifeson guitarist. I ordered one the moment I seen it come I out in the catalog. The guitar is beautiful. All of the special appointments are one of a kind. What makes this guitar stand out is the Koa sides and back. The Koa looks 3 dimensional. It looks as if the wood is draperies hanging down from the ceiling of a house. I guess you have to see it! Totally immaculate. The depth of the wood and the finish is spectacular! The Bearclaw Spruce top is different than the standard Sitka Spruce tops put on higher end Acoustics. It's cool, it's different and it's neat. Which leads me to my only mild complaint. I bought the guitar to play so somehow PRS should have put a small clear pick guard on it. I wouldnt dare do it now because it wouldn't be original, plus I'd screw it up. But a small factory piece would have been nice for those of us who are gonna play this and not just collect it. Also, be mindful this guitar is a thin bodied acoustic. It has great sound especially if you play better than I do. I found the playability to be a little "tight", but over time I hope things loosen up or I get better! All in all, it's a great piece to go with my Lifeson 355 and Lifeson Les Paul!! Oh, the case is pretty sweet too. I had to call PRS to get string set which is 12-53 phosphor bronze according to tech support.
