Built to Shred

The Jackson Adrian Smith SDX solidbody electric guitar is built for shredding. The Iron Maiden axeman worked with Jackson to spec out his signature model, which sports a lightweight, resonant basswood body to help you sail through marathon gigs without fatigue. You get a fast-action bolt-on maple neck with a compound-radius rosewood fingerboard and jumbo frets for fluent high-speed soloing. With a high-octane Jackson bridge humbucker and noiseless middle and neck single-coils, this axe gives you massive tonal flexibility, while a Floyd Rose Special vibrato handles your divebombs with aplomb. For an amazingly affordable guitar that can do it all, look no further than the Jackson Adrian Smith SDX.

Jackson Adrian Smith SDX Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • High-performance design puts you in touch with your music
  • For playability, you can't beat the SuperStrat recipe
  • Optimized electronics give you a staggering range of tone - with no noise
High-performance design puts you in touch with your music

One of Jackson's mottos is "Choose wisely. Play better." That's not just hype either. The fact is, a well made guitar, like the Adrian Smith SDX, gives you a closer connection to your music. For instance, the Adrian Smith SDX features a compound radius fingerboard, which is more rounded at the nut and flatter higher up the neck. This makes it easy to fret chords near the nut, while opening up the fretboard for soloing. The flatter higher frets also let you keep your action low, without bottoming out when you bend notes.

For playability, you can't beat the SuperStrat recipe

The Jackson Adrian Smith SDX is, well, a SuperStrat. Take the most comfortable (and popular) solidbody electric guitar body style, hot rod it with high-end features like a compound-radius fingerboard, then spec it with top-drawer components (Floyd Rose vibrato, anyone?). The result is a great-sounding axe that drips with playability - from one of the companies that put the SuperStrat concept on the map.

Optimized electronics give you a staggering range of tone - with no noise

Jackson's Adrian Smith SDX sports an electronics setup that stokes your sonic arsenal with massive tonal range. For those chimey, spanky single-coil sounds, you have noiseless single-coils in the neck and middle position, right where you want them. Smoldering at the bridge, you have a muscular high-output Jackson humbucker, waiting to do some serious damage. All in, the 5-way blade selector serves up the gamut of (noise-free) tone you could ever hope to elicit from an electric guitar.

Jackson Adrian Smith SDX Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Lightweight, resonant basswood body
  • Compound-radius rosewood fingerboard
  • High-output Jackson bridge humbucker
  • Noiseless middle and neck single-coil pickups
  • Floyd Rose Special vibrato tailpiece
You can have it all, with the Jackson Adrian Smith SDX!

Stunning !

Like most people say, for $ its is a steal!!! My guitar was set up spot on !! Thanks to whoever did this! Been playing it for 7 days already and it just won't go out of tune, that is a big plus for me. I hate to be out of tune. Beautiful smooth neck, floyd rose, noiseless pups. Everyone has different amps and different pedal boards so yours may not sound great not because of the guitar, but because of the equipment mentioned. Everything works different with different connections, pedals, circuits, amps and so on and so forth ! I am pushing this guitar through a Peavey Classic 30 and my End of The World pedal board. Its sounds great!! It can play Rock, Blues, and Country dead on !! The only con and that is why I gave it a 4.5 is the pickguard and the block. The block is very thin but the sound is not though. And the pickguard is slightly peeling off at the edges, no problem Warmoth has a replacement for 25 dollars. So this is a great guitar for $, no one else will give you so much for that amount of money. I will buy another one as soon as I pay for this one. The pups are good no need to replace them at this time. As always thanks to Andrew Plassman !! Great dude !! Always makes sure my musical needs are met.

Excellent Guitar

Not only is this a really great looking guitar, but it is one of the best feeling guitars i've played in over 31 years of playing. This may cost $499, but the quality of construction, fit and finish are absolutely stunning. Jackson should put better pickups in this model, but for the price, they are not bad at all. Major thanks to Jackson and Adrian Smith for comeing out with an affordable, yet quality model of his higer priced signiture model. I can not put this guitar down!

Fantastic Guitar

This guitar is fantastic. The weight is perfect for it's size and the neck is an absolute dream to play on, especially if you're playing classic metal like Maiden. The Tremolo is also very solid for being a Special. My only (and it's not even that bad) is that compared to the high power humbucker in it (which kills), the single coils are relatively weak. They give that fantastic twang you expect from a SC but in terms of output the difference is pretty huge to the point where I need to turn up the volume on my amp whenever i'm using the single coils. It's not a big problem, but it is the only issue I have found so far.
