Very good amplifier

By Sweetwater Customer on March 29, 2024

Bought this amplifier to play my acoustic guitar and it sounds great very pleased with the purchase

Great little amp, very inexpensve

By WILLIAM SCHIER from Levittown, PA on February 6, 2024 Music Background: Playing for 58 years. JT, 70's singer-songwriter stuff, etc.

This amp was perfect for my purposes, playing in church. It has 2 channels, XLR and unbalanced inputs, very basic volume and tone, and a chorus effect that's pretty random, i.e. if you want pedals, go get them. But it's sturdy, very easy to carry around, and enough volume to play fingerstyle alongside a piano. I have a Martin D28 with LR Baggs Anthem under-saddle pickup and Xvive wireless guitar system. There is NO audible noise, unlike the setups of yesteryear where buzz and 60-cycle hum were par for the course. The sound is fairly natural, as if my Martin got louder.

The only upgrade I would consider for this application is a DPA instrument mic to get that perfect natural acoustic guitar sound. But that alone is about 5x the cost of this setup.

Scott was great... all is good....till next time..!!!!

Just sounds great!

By Sweetwater Customer from NC on February 23, 2023

I purchased the Fender Acoustasonic 15 because of the all the great rankings and reviews and I was not disappointed. It just sounds great with my Martin and PRS guitars. And it's very easy to use and make adjustments. This is my first amp, I just wanted to have something to use sometimes when I play / practice in the house and it's absolutely perfect for me.

The right amp

I ordered this Fender amp for the practice room. The amp is great size-compact and light. The sound is good- my Taylor guitar still has it's good sound. This amp will be a good size to take for little run-outs.
Also, Sweetwater is a great resource and most helpful. Thanks!

Amazed

By John Offutt on January 24, 2022

I was amazed and surprised how clear, powerful this Fender acoustasonic 15 is. And the chorus switch is perfect. Every single note is crisp, clear. My Martin D28 sounds great! I did upgrade to D28 unbleached real bone nut, unbleached real bone saddle, real bone bridge pins and real ebony wood bridge pins, real bone strap button and LR Baggs Anthem SL pickup and Indian Rosewood armrest to keep my arm from touching the top to allow the top to vibrate naturally. This is a great amplifier.

Little Power House

By Sweetwater Customer on January 20, 2022

A small amp with a big punch. I use it with my Martin HD-28 acoustic and it's a great sound for small spaces.

Nice little amp

By JCB from North of Mexico on September 21, 2021 Music Background: Bass is my main instrument but I dabble in guitar and uke.

Perfectly simple little amp for guitar or the ukulele. Very intuitive to use. Simple but functional EQ, and it even has a built in chorus effect. It also works for a low volume clean tone w an electric. Obviously this isn't a super loud amp, and I'm pretty sure it would be easy to blow the tiny speaker up if you abuse it, but it's pretty versatile for what it is.

Small, but powerful!

By John Latch from Houston, Tx. on August 29, 2021 Music Background: Long time player

I'm downsizing my equipment, so I was looking for a small, lightweight acoustic amp.

This amp fits the bill for me perfectly. Small, lightweight, 2 channels(vocal/instrument).

AND at a great price!

I'm running my instruments, as well as a headset mic through with no problem. It has plenty of punch for coffee houses, small cafes, and jam sessions.

Overall, I'm very happy I chose this amp.

and as it usually is at Sweetwater, Ashton and the rest of the folks here are "finest kind". JL

Yup this is the best

By Alan Allen from Olympia,Wa on January 30, 2021 Music Background: I play guitar, piano, and the horses.

Throw it in the trunk and take off. Big bank for the buck. I use it in my den, takes not much space, but lots of sound. Great fender sound. You got to have one. And the best part is dealing with sweetwater. Great people.

A Beauty of a Little Beast

By Jonathan Hogan from New York City on August 27, 2020 Music Background: I've been playing guitar for over fifty years.

I originally wanted the Acoustasonic, but it looked like it would be unavailable until November, so I bought another 15 watt acoustic guitar amp from another dealer. It was from a reputable company, had pretty good reviews, and was slightly more expensive than the Fender. It had the same basic setup - two channels, one xlr input, one guitar quarter inch input, EQ, and chorus. As soon as I turned it up so that it was slightly louder than the guitar unplugged, it started to feedback. Even at a very low volume, and keeping my distance from the amp, the sound was unimpressive and on certain notes, like an open D string, it sustained almost to the feedback point. I returned it. I got an email from Aaron at Sweetwater that the Acoustasonic was now in stock, so I immediately ordered it and received it two days later. I was so pleased that I didn't settle for the other one. The
Fender is just beautiful. The volume knob is nicely calibrated and doesn't jump from really soft to loud with a slight turn like the other amp did, but smoothly raises the volume to just the level you want. The EQ controls are very responsive and give you any tone that you're looking for. The sound is very pure, sounds like the instrument should, and the chorus adds a lovely shimmer to the sound. My old Electro Voice mic. sounds great through the xlr input even without a pre amp. This little beauty can get loud, no hum, no buzz, it's light to carry, and it's real pretty. It's not that often that you find just what you're looking for, but this time I sure did.

Just what I needed

By Sweetwater Customer on April 3, 2020

It didn't take long to sink my guitar to the amp (both of them being new to me) everything works fine.

Thanks

Beautiful Little Plug n' Play Amp

By Brian Walsh from Indiana on December 22, 2019 Music Background: strictly a hobbyist

In more ambitious days, I bought a pair of amps with the assumption that they would segue from practicing in my home office to playing small venues, or outdoors as needed, but found that I had to make concessions for being able to run my guitar and a vocal mic to get a decent sound. Then I discovered this Fender Acoustasonic model, tried it out at the Sweetwater showroom, and it was a match made in small-time singer-songwriter heaven! I am able to have it always at the ready for practice, or impromptu home jamming, and when my office is doing it's backup job as a guest bedroom, the amp is easy to move to another room without any hassles.

The sound is very good to my modestly trained ears, and I find I am able to get a decent vocal/guitar balance to suit me with much less effort than I previously would put in with a mixing board and effects pedals. Highly recommended for practice, and I am looking forward to seeing how it fares in small venues when the opportunities to play them return with the warmer weather.

Great buy

By Michael Alspaugh from Warsaw IN on June 15, 2019 Music Background: new to all music playing

As a beginner guitar player I don't know much about the differences between electric and acoustic /electric guitars but decided to buy the latter after playing my Fender from Sweetwater for several months. Well I hooked it to my Fender amp and did not get the acoustic sound I was hoping for so I went in and saw my AWESOME sales person Ethan and got this lil beauty. I love the sound it puts out and for the price who can complain about it???? Now I have and electric Fender upstairs to practice on and an acoustic / electric downstairs to sit on my bed and practice the evening away and I love the pair and how they sound differently.

Jason recommended this amp because it's not too expensive but still as a really great sound. You can adjust the bass and treble for whatever style you want to play. Also it's not too big so I can fit it in my room, which is an added bonus.

Got this to play the ukulele with the pickup and it works great! I also use it to play electric guitar as practice and not disturb the entire house. It is ideal and sounds great. I bought brand new because used price was not much different so may as well have new! This little amp is solid and doesn't have any issues.

Acoustasonic 15 Amp

By Sweetwater Customer from Upstate New York on December 7, 2017 Music Background: Serious amateur who plays with two oldies bands

The Acoustasonic 15 Amp fits my needs perfectly. I use it for home practice, and its compact size and 6 inch speaker are just right - adequate volume and excellent tone. The build quality is excellent, and onboard controls are easy to understand and use. They provide enough tone variety to eliminate the need for external electronics, except for an acoustic pre-amp, which minimizes feedback.

FANTASTIC LITTLE AMP!!!

By John from New York on November 9, 2017 Music Background: Everything from punk rock to bluegrass

I just received this little fella in the mail (shipping was free!) and couldn't be more pleased with it. I play mandolin and dobro guitar - two very twangy instruments, and was in need of something with just enough punch to bring it up over any room or crowd noise and the Acoustasonic 15 delivers with an incredible tone!

I play out live a lot and with 6 other musicians. I use a mic stand clamp with a sure 57 to mic my guitar (plugged into the XLR on the Acoustasonic) and plug directly into the 1/4" input for my mandolin. What a perfect set up!!!

Also, I got a call from a rep at Sweetwater to make sure I was satisfied with my order (who does that these days???).

Great service, amp showed up 3 days after I ordered it, free shipping and a quality piece of equipment. What more could I ask for?

I will definitely be back. Thanks Sweetwater!!

Perfect Small size for small studio.

By John from Utah on September 20, 2017 Music Background: Mid level non-pro

Perfect Reproduction!

By Kevin Bradford from Kansas on August 5, 2017 Music Background: 40 years and counting

I went to a concert of a National Country touring artist to see a friend of mine who is in the band. As we were checking out all the cool stuff back stage, we came up to amp row. All their amps are behind and under stage and miked up through the house system. Imagine my surprise when I found Three of these little guys amoung thousands of dollars worth of special amps. I was told that all their acoustic instruments go directly to one of these amps and through the house system. No way the sound guy screws up the guitar sound! Apparently this is common practice for some professional crews now to get the best acoustic sound. So I ordered one, I must say I am impressed! No hiss, no buzz, just pure clear, warm acoustic guitar just Louder! Fender scored big with this amp and Sweetwater gives fast shipping and the best pricing!

Great amplifier.

By Tony from Clermont, Florida on April 13, 2017 Music Background: Play the baritone in grammar school for five years. I was raised on Long Island New York and our band was so good that we were invited to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade every year.

I have done hours and hours of research on what the best amplifier for my acoustic guitar would be.

Even though I am 72 years old I'm just a beginner because all my life I've wanted to play the guitar and unfortunately the years went by too fast.

My fender, acoustic sonic 15 amp amplifier for $99.99 even makes the mistakes I make sound good.

Since I lost quite a bit of my hearing flying helicopters in Vietnam, I use a high quality set of headphones so I won't disturb anybody else.

Do your own research, watch all the videos and if you are in the market for a new amplifier you will be you will be convinced that the Fender acoustic sonic series is the one for you.

Remarkable!

By Robert from Hinesville, GA on March 9, 2017

I just recently received this amp from Sweetwater and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I knew that it was going to be a really small footorunt with just a one 6"" speaker so I was quite surprised how big the sound is, coming from such a small rig. And the sound is remarkably acoustic sounding. It actually sounds more acoustic than my Hartke AC75.

I would not hesitate in recommending the Fender Acoustasonic 15.

For the price this is probably the best amp on the market. The sound is solid and it cranks for only 15-watt.It's also works out good with two channels one for the mic and the other for acoustic guitar. It's very simple to use the settings are nice. Well built and has a really nice look for the price this is a steal .Be sure to get yours from Sweetwater.

Great little amp for acoustic electric guitar

Glady Suprised

By Randy from Jacksonville, FL on February 2, 2014 Music Background: Hobbyist, Song Writer

I needed something light to take to church and back as I play occasionally. I played on this little amp in a room that seats around 200 people. It must weigh around 8-10 pounds. Using the Church mike I plugged my acoustic Takamine into this little amp and was amazed that it could very reasonably fill the space. To be fair it was just me and the guitar playing. It is a lot easier to tote and it does the job for me. Best use would be small venue and practice but I honestly was surprised. Only gripe I have is that the power cord is stiff. For the $$ it is a great deal. I have not found a cover for this unit, so I may make my own. My other Fender Acoustasonic Jr is a true work horse and would easily fill this size room but much heavier to cart back and forth.
Sweetwater won my business with the price and customer service.

Great amp for ukelele

By Sweetwater Customer on December 5, 2022

Great Little Amp

By Anthony from New York on June 8, 2021

Right out of the box a great little amp. I paired it with my Ibanez Artwood and was very impressed with the clarity of sound. Nice crisp highs and rich deep lows. The chorus effect opens up your guitar very nicely and really fills out a room if it's miced into a PA system. Really nice addition to have the second channel available for a microphone but unfortunately there is no integrated effect for that channel.

Acoustasonic

By Sweetwater Customer on March 3, 2021

Guitar has an amazing range of tones. Mainly play electric but wanted acoustic tones. Sounds great either through acoustic amp or with effects and tube amp. Two minor complaints: 1. on line descriptions say as easy to play as Strat. While significantly easier to play than many acoustics, not as easy as Strat. 2. Would be nice if there was a way to save the settings of the mod know for the 5 voice selector switch settings. I like to switch voices but then have to hunt for my favorite balance using the mod knob. Not a big deal, but this does take some effort.

1st Acoustic Amp

By william griffin from lexington, KY on August 15, 2019

Purchased online on Tuesday and received it the Next Day ( I live in Ky ) Sale engineer Paul Eckert is The Man !! He is always Great to work with. I finally decided to purchase an acoustic guitar amp for my Lone acoustic guitar ( I have 4 Les Pauls and an SG w\ a Marshal DSL40 ) I play in my man cave 90% of the time and an acoustic amp wasn't a high priority. Googled 'best acoustic amps under $200' and noticed the good reviews for this Fender. Plugged it in last nite and am quite pleased with it. For $... it is a fine small amp...this unit is Very Quiet and the sound/tone is just fine for me. Chorus isn't great but it's fine for me and I'm glad it's a feature. XLR is a nice feature - don't know that I'll ever hook up a mic unless it's for someone else lol. Playing a Martin entry level X Series. (Amp looks good too.)
4.5 stars for the product - 5 stars for Sweetwater associate Paul Eckert

Little amp, big sound

By L. Clark from Indiana on December 23, 2018 Music Background: Intermediate guitar player

I was needing a small acoustic amp that I could carry easy. I play with a group of Musicians once a week. We get together and play Blue grass, Country and a little classic rock. I went to Sweetwater to check out some amps, there were two small ones this fender and another amp The other amp has an 8" speaker, eq and an extra input jack. The fender has a 6" speaker mic jack and guitar jack an eq and chorus. After playing both amps back and forth for a while I found that the Fender's eq had a lot more range than the other. Then you add the Chorus on the fender and you get a more full tone and can adjust to sound a lot better than the other. Keep in mind these are small amps, there only going to sound so good. All in all the Fender was the best sounding amp to my ears and I'm not sorry I bought it. The guys I play with couldn't believe how well it sounded for a small amp.

So Good I Bought Another One

By Rosser from Ocala, FL on April 17, 2018 Music Background: amateur guitar player - 45+ years.

I bought one of these Fender Acoustasonic 15 amps about 8 months ago and I liked it so much I decided to buy another one to take to the music get-togethers we have in my community. One thing I especially like is that it has separate inputs for guitar and microphone with separate volume controls. Of course, it is only 15 watts but that is enough for my purposes of playing at home or in small groups. The sound is good from my acoustic guitar using an active acoustic sound hole pickup, and the microphone input is good as well. This amp is easy to carry and set up, has decent sound for 15 watts, and is very reasonably priced - what could be better? At any rate, I bought another one to take along to gatherings in case someone else wants to play plugged in but didn't bring and amp... >;o)

By Jim Preston from Shelter Island NY on January 19, 2018 Music Background: Solo Beach music

Went looking for a travel amp, something to take to the Keys. Space was an issue. Decideded on 15 watt model. As an Acoustic and Vocals Solo artist I paired it with my TAYLOR 314CE; TC Halicon Harmony GXT (voice sweetener) and a Sure Beta 58 A mic.
The combination presents clear and bright for small venue opportunities! Certainly a solid play/practice tool! Happy to have added the gear to my passion.

Great Little Amp

By Ron Ullrich from Beulah, CO on May 18, 2015 Music Background: Hobbyist

I had purchased an Martin DX1AE and thought I should get an amp to go with it. Being a novice I went to my Sales Engineer Dennis Konicki for advice. Didn't want to break the bank and Dennis pointed my towards this fine little amp. It has all the features that I needed and was under $100.00. I think it has great sound. It is very portable and has more than enough volume for anything I will ever be doing. It also has a mic input for those of you who like to do a little singing with you playing. Bottom line, I would recommend this amp for anyone looking for a great little amp at an affordable price.

By Tim S. from Bartlett, IL on December 16, 2022 Music Background: Intermediate Banjo/Guitar

I've been shopping for an amp for an acoustic/electric guitar I recently purchased and for a live voice. I was holding off for a much better unit that Patrick Ortiz had mentioned. But when the price dropped recently by $70 on the Acoustasonic 15, I decided to get it. It has chorus on it but no reverb. No biggie.

The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is I have yet to plug it in or turn it on even as I have been busy with other stuff but am hopeful it will perform as expected.

Sweetwater is the best place to shop for anything musical!

Thank you!

Portability a major plus.

I am using for vocals when we meet at our drummer's place since there is no PA at that location. It is so light and easy to set up. I just wish it could be a bit louder. But it's fine for now and I'm sure I will get other use out of it with my acoustic guitar.

Nice little beginner amp . It's a keeper ! Feels solid.

By Mark M from Coventry Township, OH on April 14, 2021 Music Background: Hobby Musician

My first acoustic amp. I Plugged into Yamaha and Martin acoustic/electric guitars . This thing can be loud! Responsive tone controls. Subjectively, I don't experience a totally acoustic sound from this, but it is enjoyable and has a full sound. The chorus is interesting and fun at low level, but gets a weird and more of an echo distortion effect at higher levels. I would prefer a reverb feature rather than chorus.

Great deal

By Alan from NE Ohio on March 7, 2019

Bought this for my daughter who lives out of state. Purchased on the advice of Patrick who said it would work better that the one I had picked out. She likes the Acoustasonic much better (with her Martin) than she does the Fender Mustang or Marshall DSL 40 that she plugs into when she comes to visit.

not a bad little amp

By Steve from Jersey Shore on May 25, 2018 Music Background: working musician

pick up this little amp because it was under 10 lbs, and had mic and guitar channels, plugged in a wireless headset mic and wireless guitar pick up, and used it at an out door event at the VA Hospital. cranked it up to 3/4 volume on mic and guitar, and it performed great, afterwards everyone said the sound was great, even as I wandered thru the crowd to play. If your looking for a small venue amp that is easy to carry in and set up, this is your baby

Fender Acoustasonic

By Sweetwater Customer on March 2, 2018

Haven't used it much as I only had it a week but I am playing a Martin acoustic with fishman electronics as well as an Ibanez Art Core AF55 hollow body through it and both sound great especially with the chorus option.

Nice amp for home playing or practice.

So Much Fun!

By Robert Weil from GA on March 31, 2017 Music Background: Retired musician. I just play now at my church and around the house.

It is exactly as I hoped it would be. Lightweight, can fit anywhere, and just a really good acoustic sound!
It has actually made me play more because it is just so easy to have it with you anywhere that you were going to be playing acoustically and just want a little more volume. Great for the patio and the fire pit!

Great amp

Perfect for my use

Great Sound

By Tony Umstead from HUNTINGDON, TN on March 18, 2016

Pretty loud and clear for a small amp.
I've played thru it and miked it up to sounds pretty. Good for a small
gig or practice at home or garage.
Built good nice looks!! Worth money!!!

great bedroom amp

By Brent Brown from georgia on October 12, 2015 Music Background: self taught musician

This little amp is very responsive, and easy to dial in the right tone. No frills except for a chorus feature, which eliminates the need for a pedal. The mic jack and headphone jack are a plus. I use it to practice in the bedroom, and I prefer this to the other 5 small amps I have. Easy on the wallet too. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants a no frills amp for a song.

Great little amp

By Gary on August 20, 2015

Bought for my daughter for her Ukelele. Clean sound and plenty loud enough for a small room. She primarily uses it in our basement 15x 30 room and it fills the room nicely without being too loud.

Easy to use.

Fender 15 watt acoustisonic

Surprisingly powerful, and being solid state it's very quiet.
It is responsive to the nuances of your playing, both picking and strumming..

Awesome little amp. Surprisingly loud for its size.

Sweet and Loud...

By Brian from Galien, MI on July 7, 2014 Music Background: Weekend warrior...

The Microphone side of this little amp is HOT!!! I tried the guitar channel first and was pleasantly surprised by the loudness but then plugged in the mike and WOW !!!...
So, all-in-all, I love the sound if this amp for being only 15 watts... The guitar channel adjustments actually have an effect on the sound, so, tweaking the purity of the acoustic is awesome...

small light with big sound

By Robert Stephens from Florida on December 9, 2013 Music Background: performer

Good things come in small packages and this is a small but great package. Light and very portable but with a strong sound. Great to Cary to jam sessions and be heard both in vocals and instruments. The best practice amp I have ever had. Worth munch more than I paid!

Pretty good as vocal PA

By Sweetwater Customer from Vermont on November 10, 2023

This one's tricky, because maybe I'm not using it for its intended purpose, but this is my vocal PA when I'm practicing at home (I never plug an instrument into it). I really like it for that purpose, and I've tried other options, because it's compact in size and the tiny power & speaker keep the vocals from getting too boomy -- it gives a nice, natural sound -- enhanced by a vocal reverb pedal (the larger Acoustasonic has on-board reverb; this one doesn't). On the other hand, I need the volume almost maxed to keep up with guitar amps, and it has a very noisy, hissing sound floor. But at this point I wouldn't part with it.

Its alright for the price

By Paul from Missouri on March 24, 2014 Music Background: advanced playing and recording for 10yr

I bought this amp for a practice amp but it just wasn't for me.
It has a chorus but no reverb.
So instead of sending it back I gave it to my son and I bought the Fishman loudbox mini which cost two times the price but worth every penny and can be used for a practice amp as well as an on stage amp.
Before you buy the Fender acoustasonic check out the loudbox mini.
For the price you won't regret it.

Good Amp for a small practice space

By Guitarguy92 from Seattle on July 5, 2022 Music Background: Professional singer/songwriter

This is a good amp for a small practice space---it also has a mic input, which works well for vocal practicing or even teaching in a mid-sized classroom so everyone in the back can hear! The weakest point is the chorus---sonically does not sound the greatest. Otherwise, there are sufficient tonal controls to eq your individual pickup in your guitar.

Nice size great for acoustic instrument but not for the mic

By Jill from San Diego on December 22, 2021 Music Background: 50 years playing stringed instruments ('cello, harp, mandolin, violin, viola, 'ukulele, mountain dulcimer) plus Native American flute, recorder, tin whistle

We routinely play (outside) for a nursing home and we need amplification. It's just a small group of about 10 people. This Fender amp is the perfect size and weight for our needs. I use an acoustic tenor 'ukulele for leading them in the hymns. But the mic component on the Fender was impossible to get loud enough. We tried it with 2 different mics (a Shure and a Sennheiser) and a different mic cable - but turning the mic volume all the way to maximum just wasn't enough. The 'ukulele at half volume was definitely loud - not so the mic side. I love Sweetwater and this little 15w amp should have been acceptable for our needs.. I hated to give it 3 stars, but the mic side of the amp wasn't useable for us. If that could be fixed I'd buy this amp again.

Fender Acoustasonic 15 1x6" 15-Watt Acoustic Combo

By rik from chicago on April 14, 2014 Music Background: live music

good basic portable combo amp
but for the exact same money:
Behringer Ultracoustic AT108 Acoustic Combo Amp
is better.
better sound from 8 in speaker.
better because cd/ipod/phone input jack.
I own both and the Behringer AT108 wins every time with 5 stars

not bad for what it is

By brian taylor from sparta tn on February 8, 2014 Music Background: guitarist 25 years

it does what its suppose to do my only gripe is lack of reverb its loud and make my Takamine ring clear and crisp the chorus fills in the gaps you can get some very pretty sounds from this amp havent used the mic channel yet this is small and compact just not what i was wanting if your on a budget and just looking for a cheap amp get this otherwise save your money and buy the fishman loudbox mini

Sounds cheap and tinny

Issues with B-Band T35 pickups

By Sweetwater Customer on January 4, 2017

Be careful if you owe an acoustic guitar that has a B-Band T35 pickup. I own a S&P guitar that has this specific pickup and there is a hissing sound once you turn the volume up on the Fender amp past mid point. I went to the store where I purchased the guitar from and we tested it with other ones. It was consistently problematic with S&Ps that had the B-Band T35 pickups. This issue forced me to go with the Behringer AT108 and that rectified the issue. Only other caveat was the Behringer does not have a built in chorus control so I had to buy a separate FAB chorus pedal. However, it sounds great over all.

Annoying HUM!

By Sweetwater Customer from NYC, NY on April 12, 2019

Annoying HUM!

No matter what Volume setting this amp is set at it has a continuous HUM.
Have a Bugera and two(2) LINE6 amp and they do not do this.

On the bright side if you raise the volume the hum does not increase.

If you are using this for a busy, noisy area at high volume you probably will not notice this.
However if you plan to use this as a practice amp in a quiet area this is going to get tiresome.
