Excellent strings, hold their tone to the end pretty well

Love these strings. I also like Nanoweb version but these have a bit less string noise but yet still have a pretty decent tone to them (nanoweb's are brighter). I switched to these instead of the Nanoweb. Their tone lasts, eventually they fray out but even as the do they seem to hang on to the tone really well. Tune well.

Huge improvement over Martin Phosphor Bronze

I've been using Martin phosphor bronze strings for more than 30 years with no complaints. (Beat-up but rare 1959 Gibson acoustic-electric, bought it for a steal when I was 16). Decided to splurge on these just to see if they were really better.

Wow. Especially impressive run through an amp, where the 1st and 2nd strings have always sounded a bit too bright to me. Thought it was the ancient single coil pickup, but the tone using these strings was much more balanced. Won't know about longevity for a while, but just the quality of the sound makes the strings worth it.

    Very Good Product

Since my first pack of Elixir not long after they were invented I've used no other. For years I had to change out other brands after just four hours of use (one gig) due to I guess me having high acidity that simply crusted over the strings with corrosion. Not Elixir. They also can be cleaned up a bit after months of use and return the ring. I've tried other brands of coated strings but they just don't seem to have the sound and lasting power of Elixirs.

    Elixir strings

Elixir strings are great. They seem to ring a little less in smaller gauges and polyweb have a great tone. The phosphor bronze nanoweb are close but not quite as low. I have tried a lot of different strings over the years and these are the best if you play all the time, want an extra half hour until your fingers can't take it anymore, and don't mind paying a little more for the best.
