Worth more than its price!

My first electric guitar recently became dysfunctional, so then I began the search for a new axe. I had only 300 bucks to spend, sadly. But then i managed to run into this sick guitar while browsing. I instantly fell in love with the design. I usually play metal genre music and such so this beast appealed to me. Like come on, look at those edges! As soon as it arrived and played it through my fender mustang v2 (yeah i know its not that great), I then went crazy for how good it sounded. The neck is so smooth and easy to slide across. I do a lot of sweep picking, so it was so effortless and easy to just do these arpeggios all around the neck without worrying about stopping. The pickups are fairly decent in my opinion, but if I had the money... I'd replace them with some SD pups. And another thing I love is that it perfectly sits on your lap in shred position or regular! I can definetly say that these guitar is worth more than its price. :)))

Killer AX

I've wanted one of these for a few years, and thanks to Sweetwater, I finally have it! The AX50 is a comfortable, lightweight instrument that's surprisingly versatile despite the Spartan control scheme. Between the basswood body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard, one would rightfully assume that it would have a warm, somewhat muddy sound, but the articulation on this beast is unrivaled at ten times the price! It arrived with the truss rod cranked and rear pickup both cranked down, so I had to raise the action (a simple process with the included Allen wrench and a screwdriver to remove and re-install the truss rod cover) and bring the rear pickup up toward the strings, and voila: excellent sound. The front and rear pickups are the same model: ESP-designed LH-150s. Even considering this, the tonal disparity when cycling between them is massive. The front (bridge) pickup is very hot, with a lot of treble bite, and the rear pickup is much warmer, with more of a P.A.F, sound. Combining the two, the sound is very creamy and smoldering, which is ideal for blues and hard rock. Going back to the rear pickup, you get a sound ideal for clean runs, crunchy rhythm work, and acoustic emulation, then returning to the front pickup, it becomes an all-out shred machine. Along with the sound is the feel. The contoured heel and slim neck make access across all twenty-four frets easy and intuitive. Of all the Indian rosewood fretboards I've played, this model has the hardest and smoothest, so bends and slides are very comfortable, even considering the oversized frets used. The controls are easy to reach and manipulate in the midst of playing, which makes for a smooth transition between sounds. All told, it's as simple as this: the AX50 wins. Regardless of the style you play, it will serve you well, so it's worth a try for anyone.

Pretty good sound

This thing looks awesome. It sounds good. I don't like where the input is because the cable bends. The body has some pointy edges that can be uncomfortable to play with. The most annoying thing for me was a weird high pitch chime noise I heard when I played. It turned out it was the strings at the bottom of the guitar below the pickups. So I taped it up with shipping tape and it went away. It's kind of annoying that I had to do that but it doesn't look horrible with the tape.
