Parlor Guitar with Thermo-aged Tonewoods

The torrefied top and back of this Ibanez Artwood Vintage acoustic mimic the warmth and openness of a vintage instrument. The pairing of this pre-aged Sitka spruce and mahogany give the Ibanez AVN10 a sweet, musical midrange that you'll enjoy playing around the house or in your home studio. The deep finish is complemented by a decorative herringbone purfling along the top binding. And for added value and an unmistakably classic look, the Ibanez AVN10 Artwood Vintage includes a resonance-enhancing bone nut and saddle and vintage-inspired, open-gear Grover tuners.

Thermo-aged Tonewoods Unlock a Deeper, More Open Tone

The top and back in this Ibanez Artwood Vintage acoustic have been Thermo-aged (torrefied) to mimic decades of maturation. This process involves high heat in a low-oxygen environment to gently bake excess water and resin out of the wood. The result is a deeper fundamental, a sharper midrange contour, and a more open resonance. If you've been hesitant to invest the hundreds of hours it takes to properly break in a new instrument, Sweetwater guitarists recommend taking any of the Ibanez Thermo-aged acoustic guitars for a spin.

Great Guitar

This little gem had my eye the first time I saw her. The thermal aging matters, giving a resonance I didn't expect. Now, I have a few pretty nice guitars (to my ear) and all but one were pretty pricey (you get what you pay for) the exception being a vintage guitar that was given to me 40 plus years ago. The comfort of holding a small bodied guitar is part of its charm as well. Of course, all the guys and gals at Sweetwater did as they always do, shipping out the model I picked out from the 4 available at the time. Thanks, Sweetwater you did it again! Thanks, Ibanez, you blew the roof off with this one.

Ibanez AVN10 Artwood Vintage has big tone

This guitar surpassed my expectations, once i dialed it in for my use. The neck needed a half twist on the trussrod and the fret edges needed dressing with some light sandpapering .. once done, played great with nice tone that would compare favorably with much more expensive parlor guitars. I would recommend for finger style rather than flat pick. Has a very light feel with good projection. Artificially aged top and back, I think, have made a very positive difference for tone and volume. Also parlor body sits in recorded mix well with larger acoustics. This guitar records well!
