Very Impressed!

We were shopping to replace an aged and failing wireless lapel system. This system gave us the option to do that, while also putting our worship leader on a wireless mic (with a headset mic, not the lapel), while not wasting a ton of rack space. Also, having the option of remote mounting the wireless receiver was a great selling point for those that were worried about possible signal issues. It turns out we didn't need that, as we've had absolutely no signal issues with it, but it's still a great option if needed. We also purchased a Countryman headset to go with it, so we don't actually use the included lapel mics that often, but we opted for them to have the option for guest speakers. Either way, this wireless system works great; strong signal, good features, and great sound. The few times we have used the included lapel mics, we've been pleased with them, as well. Depending on the voice, they can be a task to EQ, but they work great once they're tuned. The only feature I'm not pleased with is the battery indicator. A-T says we should be able to expect around 7 hours on one set of AA batteries, and there is a nice little battery life indicator on the screen of the receiver unit to keep you informed. However, we have yet to get more than 4 hours out of a set of name-brand professional batteries, and the indicator has left us stranded several times. The indicator does seem to be fairly accurate on the low end, but it overestimates the high end. Several times now, we've checked it before service started, and it showed a full charge. 15 minutes into service, it showed a 2/3rds charge (3 bar indicator), which made sense as the batteries had already been used for a 1-1/2 hour service before. A few minutes after that, the mic cut out, and we looked down to see an empty battery indicator. Basically, it reads too high for too long...then the battery just drops off a cliff. We've since then worked out a rotation to make sure we get the most out of our batteries without leaving us stranded during a service, but I'm disappointed that this feature is just not trustworthy. I'd like to see it improved with more than just 3 bars, and better reliability. Still, overall, if that's the only thing I can complain about from a 2-in-1 wireless mic system, I am impressed. Impressed enough to plan on buying another one in handheld format when we have the budget for it to replace our aged handheld mics.
