Dependable High Quality IEM System

We've been using the M3 system for almost two years now. They get about 6-10 hours of use each week in rehearsals and at shows. We all have custom molds from Westone and are using the ES3 or ES5 buds. The M3 units are 100% solid. We've never had any issues with them. The sound quality is good. Noise is nearly nonexistent and largely dependent on the quality of the board you're using more than the M3 system. It is very rare when we drop a signal but when we do, the M3 is back up within a second or two. The ability to set up "more me" on one side and the rest of the band on the other has been very helpful. We play to a click and many times our drummer will need to isolate the click and, of course, our singer loves the ability to turn down the band and turn himself up. That feature has come in very handy. These are a little more pricey than the entry level units and a little less expensive than the top of the line stuff. I'm curious as to what the more expensive stuff can do better than these. Obviously, since we've logged hundreds of hours of successful usage, our endorsement is very positive. I would certainly buy these again. The $200 price difference is negligible. This is one of those items that you won't have to think about again. If only dialing in a good IEM mix were as easy.....

Poor performance

This unit had no headroom. Input clipped consistently unless pad was engaged or source gain was so low you had no volume at receiver. AB'd this side by side with a Shure PSM200 and the AT at full volume was about like the Shure at less than half. The E3 earbuds that come with it are absolute junk. My $20 Skull Candy buds sounded better. Needless to say I returned this thing and got a Shure. Better performance-$200 less. Do the math.
