Semi-acoustic body with flame maple top, back, and sides provides a bright and naturally expressive tone

There's no substitute for the mellow and naturally resonant sound of an electric guitar with a semi-acoustic body. Ibanez built their AS93 semi-hollowbody guitar to capture the jangle and bite of a classic semi-hollowbody, which is why they built it with a flamed maple body. Whether you're playing rockabilly, blues, or any number of modern styles, you're going to love the character the AS93 semi-hollowbody guitar brings to your music.

Super 58 Custom humbucking pickups capture electric sound and acoustic resonance, without 60-cycle hum

Early hollowbody and semi-hollowbody electric guitars had a wonderfully expressive tone that came with serious hum issues. That's why Ibanez and other guitar makers quickly developed special humbuckers, such as the Super 58 Custom pickups. These special humbuckers preserve your AS93 semi-hollowbody guitar's bite, but ditch the 60Hz hum and other noise. What's more, Super 58 Custom humbuckers give the AS93 a unique sonic character that you're sure to have fun with.

Slim mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard give you smooth feel and comfortable action

The neck of any guitar has a lot to do with how well it plays. That's why Ibanez selected one of their smoothest and most comfortable necks for the Artcore AS93 semi-hollowbody guitar. Not only will your hand love the slim carve of this 3-piece mahogany/maple Expressionist neck, but your fingers will also appreciate the beautifully bound rosewood fingerboard.

Ibanez AS93 Artcore Expressionist Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:

Ibanez AS93

Ok I don't writing reviews because it's my opinion. You don't know me or what I like. I'm not your sales person. First buying a guitar online without playing it is stupid. I wanted a guitar that can do many things. Like the many people I have many different types of guitars. Fender, Taylor, Martin, PRS, Ibanez, they all play different and sound different. This was the first semt-hollow guitar. Now I went and did my home work try one out played it. Still wasn't sure. Waited because you play it at the store on there amps. You get a idea of what it sounds and plays like. But do you want a brand new guitar thats beat up from all kinds of people trying it out. That's why I figured I would try Sweetwater. There was 3 guitars to choose from. I let my wife make that pick. She happy with the color and that the line match up across the guitar. Lol. I love the fact that the guitar plays very comfortable. The sound on my equipment is what I was looking for. Now I will take it in and get it set up by a professional to my liking. It's close right out of the box. But a guitar you have set up professionally to yourself is beautiful. My experience at Sweetwater yes I enjoy it they take care of you. I would buy again from them. Just do your homework on any guitar or amp because it's your sound.

Great Guitar for the Price

This is my first crack at a 'mail order bride' purchase of a guitar. I was not exactly certain what to expect. But between YouTube demos, online reviews and a talk with SweetWater’s Sean Geyer, I felt pretty sure that this was a good purchase. It was. (Thanks Sean!) First things first: the build quality is outstanding. Neck, body, bridge, are extremely well-designed, crafted and fitted. Frankly, I put this guitar heads and shoulders above my somewhat recent Gibson SG for build quality. For their part, SW did a perfect job setting this thing up. While the action was a bit lower than I usually like, I have to say it was perfect for this guitar. For playability, it is a ten. In terms of sound, the pickups are indeed noiseless to a fault. They are also rather responsive (none of that very slight humbucker delay that occurs on certain guitars). For recording, they are nearly ideal. I tend to prefer old school vintage and head toward the bridge, not the neck. However, on this guitar, I found both pups to be very clear and slightly bright, though (in contrast to my usual preferences) I found that the neck pu has some muted, dusty tones to it if you play with the tone pot. The bridge, in contrast, almost requires you to develop the sound on the amp itself. It is VERY neutral, in my opinion. (I think that is where it parts company with its more expensive brethren.) I tend to play clean. So for my purposes, it is near perfect for jazz-oriented playing. Through a clean basic setting (12-o’clock B M T RV), it has a chime-like acoustic tone and medium sustain that reminds me a little of a cross between a decent mid-frequency oriented acoustic guitar and a Telecaster (yup, you read that right). For the price, you can’t beat it. However, if you gig a great deal, you may find the vol and tone knobs, pu covers and other plated items are not nearly as durable as the guitar itself. They are not on the same quality level as the guitar itself, and they just seem like they would have a much shorter shelf life on the road.

AS93VLS Artcore

I truly enjoy getting max return for my money and Sweetwater delivers. This is my third Sweetwater Guitar purchase and I am always impressed by their high quality setup. This AS93 from Sweetwater sounds and plays like it costs a good deal more than $649. Got it Friday and was delighted to see the a thorough Sweetwater setup. I setup my guitars to a high level and this beauty needed no tweaking of any kind. Amazing. Tuned her up and took it on a gig two days later. The tone and playability out of this guitar is really great! I own multiple made in USA brands and this one far exceeds my expectations. I really don't know how so much quality can cost this little. I am really delighted. It should come with a case so I bought a sweet vintage look Gator Hard case.

Absolute value

I played about 25 different mid range semi-hollow body guitars all thru a Fender Deville tube amp and the winner, hands down, was the Art Core AS93VLS. The fretboard is super smooth and quick. 3 p/u positions offered incredible tones and resonating sustain. The finish is absolutely beautiful and not a single blemish anywhere. Epiphone has a comparable guitar, the Sheraton II, and chose to put 'fancier' inlays on the fretboard but forgot to place them above the 17th fret. The Sheraton II is very nice but after playing this Ibanez I knew instantly that I'd found a better alternative. It's an ABSOLUTE VALUE.My Sweetwater rep, Delvin W, has always treated me like a V.I.P. and their commitment to service has put a smile on my face time after time. I'm not even a 'big $ buyer' but I'm always treated like they would go under without my business. Thanks Sweetwater!
