A Remake of a Rock 'n' Roll Icon

The Ibanez Artist 725 is a modern spin on the classic Artist 2618. Back is the maple-on-mahogany doublecut body for the familiar full and balanced sound and easy upper fret access, with re-engineered Ibanez Super 80 Flying Finger rhythm and treble pickups for the same hot, present tone and sensitive dynamics of the original. A host of new premium appointments, like an eye-catching tailpiece mosaic, stylized fingerboard and headstock inlays, and gold hardware throughout give the Artist 725 an upscale vibe and'll give you immediate stage authority for rock, blues, or country. If you loved the original, Sweetwater guitarists recommend checking out the Artist 725.

Classic Artist tone for chunky rhythms and singing leads

The Ibanez Artist 725 has a classic sound that excels for all styles of rock. Its remade Super 80 Flying Finger pickups lean toward the hot end of the spectrum to stand up to soloing and aggressive riffing, but they clean up well with the volume knobs when you want vintage chime for chording and rhythmic playing.

Maple-on-mahogany body for brightness and punch

The Ibanez Artist's doublecut body is made of mahogany for warmth and projection and features a brightening maple top for sparkling cleans and juicy leads. The Artist has a 3-piece maple set neck for immediate response and sustain with a choice bound ebony fingerboard for accurate representation of your riffs.

Artist appointments for a premium look

A visually stunning tailpiece mosaic and nine floret fingerboard inlays give the Ibanez Artist the look of a guitar twice its price. Sweetwater guitarists particularly appreciate the gold hardware accents and series-unique "mustache" pickguard.

Ibanez Artist 725 Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Maple top delivers a clear and balanced tone
  • Mahogany body for fullness and projection
  • 3-piece maple set neck for immediate sustain and stability

Double Agent!

I have a 1975 Ibanez Custom Agent (This one is a spin off of that 70's LP model)I bought this to keep my vintage custom agent company, It is a fantastic double cut! Mine came about perfectly set up from the factory and plays and sounds like a dream! Really fantastic craftsmanship and attention to detail! I call her the "Double Agent" Which I think Ibanez should have named it since it is basically a re-issue of the 70's Custom Agent but in a double cut model instead of Les paul style (Minus the Mandolin shape headstock) If your a fan of Ibanez or the Custom Agent, Pick one of these up while you can!I don't know how many they are going to make, Probably waiting to see how well they sell. I'd imagine there will not be a ton of these made. You cannot go wrong buying from Sweetwater, I try to buy all my instruments here as they have the very BEST customer service and the inspection and setup they do is second to none.
Music background: 40+ yrs playing

Great Ibanez

The first time I saw this model AR725 I knew I had to have it. I am a fan of the AR series Ibanez, they remind me of the Ibanez guitars I used to drool over in the late 70's, and are heavy chunky guitars. The neck is just right, the inlays are awesome, and it cranks out some serious tone. I love the inlays on the body, they might not be for you, but again, a very 70's touch, and match the inlays on the neck, a nice touch. I like the Les Paul feel, the switches are familiar & quality. I love the groovy pickguard, a very unique addition to an already groovy guitar, If you're after a great Les Paul sound and feel but don't want a Les Paul, this is a great alternative. It's a joy to play, the gold hardware on the plain-top sunburst finish is just right. It's a beautiful guitar,

This is a nice copy of an Ibanez 2450 also known as the "Custom Agent". The original was made in Japan and this double cutaway version is made in China. The materials are similar with mahogany body , maple cap, maple neck and what is listed as an ebony fret board. I am not sure what species of ebony is used but there seems to be a darkening agent used on the wood. All in all it seems to be of very high quality and a very good copy of the original which has a rosewood fretboard. Inlay quality on the fretboard I would say is superior to the original.Plays very nicely. Sweetwater is incredible on their service. Friendly customer service, super fast shipping, professional packing. They really do a great job. I need a case for my Gibson es 347 and will be ordering from them !
